"I have wanted to visit this museum for at least 2 previous trips to Santa Fe but, never made it happen. This time I was determined to see just what the "BATAAN" museum was had to offer. Turns out the museum houses historical military record of military actions and service of conflicts clear back in ..."time to when the U.S. and Mexico were engaged in war, to Civil War action in New Mexico, to both World Wars, and all recent wars in Europe and the Arab region. Showcased are several articles of uniforms and many weapons from knives to swords to pistols, rifles, and machine guns. There were even items found or confiscated from enemy troops. The museum is a great look back into the past military involvement of the fine service men and women of New Mexico, and the current involvement of the New Mexico National Guard. The accounts of the service people who were lost in the Battle for Bataan was most touching and truly worth the trip to this museum. Thank you for giving the public a chance to rem...

"We had never been to this "flea market" before, so we had no preconception of its past reputation. We actually were headed a little further North on the highway so my wife could partake in casino gambling when we saw the signs for the Saturday flea market and decided to check investigate. At first I..." was a little more than miffed by the signs at the entrance that forbid cameras to be allowed at the market. Do these people actually think I am going home expressly to duplicate their wares? Anyway, I put my feelings aside and entered with hopes of having an enjoyable time here. Good call by us. The market had many vendors selling all kinds of trinkets and art and jewelry. The vendors were friendly and helpful, and we found a silver belt buckle by a well-revered silversmith of the 60's and 70's. The price I feel was well below what would have been asked for in a shop in town and I now wear this buckle with pride. We probably walked through the market in 90 minutes scoping out items to purc...

"OK, now I have been to Santa Fe enough times that I don't feel like a tourist. I have seen all the Plaza shops, galleries, and most restaurants, so I feel like I have done what most tourists do here. For me though, the highlight of visiting the Plaza will always remain shopping for handmade merchand..."ise from the Native American artisans found on the sidewalk on the Plaza. These people are not pushy, nor are they disrespectful. They are however grateful to sell you their wares. They take great pride in their crafts and they have good hearts. I wish them well and I look forward to seeing them and their work next time I visit beautiful Santa Fe.
