Edirisa's Canoe Trekking is a combination of dugout canoeing and hiking around Lake Bunyonyi, as far away from touristy areas as humanly possible. We have been organising such treks since 2005, providing travellers with a striking blend of culture and action. In 2012 we expanded our reach to Kisoro and Bwindi and placed canoe treks under the umbrella of the new Gorilla Highlands Trail. Our offer includes Lake Bunyoyni, Kabale-Kisoro-Bwindi. From 5 hours to 5 days treks, starting from $35pp.For more information and prices check our website.Immerse yourself in the local culture and go off the beaten track with the help of Batwa »Pygmies«.

"Although potentially a very strenuous hike, the gorillas are worth it. The trackers and guides do a great job of getting you to the gorillas in their forest habitat. A very special experience to observe them in their world. The remainder of the park is special as well and affords many hiking acti..."vities where you are likely to see other primates and spectacular bird life - weather permitting. The park staff went above and beyond to make my experience great! When a guide didn't show for a scheduled hike, the officer responsible (Sunday) personally took me out and we had a great hike to the Waterfalls. Although you'll have a bumpy road to Bwindi (whether from Kihihi, Entebbe, or elsewhere) and potentially humid weather, the gorillas are worth it!

"The chance to get to watch the Gorillas moving around in that thick forest, the trek back to the camp and the information from the guides on the different aspects of the are, tress and animals was unforgettable."
"Visiting the gorilla's is the most amazing thing that I've ever done. Standing close to them, watching how they eat, looking into their eyes. It's very expensive, I know, but it's worth the money !"
