If you're in Tacloban you can take a Basey (that's in nearby Samar) jeepney and when you cross the bridge on the Samar side, yell "para!" and get out.   "It wasn't my first time to visit San Juanico Bridge but it was over 20 years ago that it first impressed me. It still does. Great view. You can't stop to take photos though. Head to the foot of the bridge on the Samar side, ask permission from the police and walk for a great shot."
