Someone from Adrift recommended we stay in the area, rather thn have the 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive each way. I am so glad Adrift re..."commended that! We were Abe to sleep a little later, as well as have time for a good breakfast each morning. Also, when we took the hike the first days the weather was not the best. By staying closer to the area, we were able to do the hike again, seeing all the great views we missed the first day. Adrift was terrific in helping us get to the Tongariro parking, as they limit the number of cars each day. Our guides each day - Stu, Justin, and Rom for the hike, and Courtney for the canoe trip were absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend Adrift Outdoor if you want a guide or to take any of their other adventures. " More >
