  • 1. Leatherbacks Steak and Seafood Restaurant
    http://infopinellas.com

Leatherbacks Steak and Seafood Restaurant serves fresh seafood at a moderate price. Their seafood sampler platters are a must to try all of the local fresh catch of the day. The meal was served with a house or cesar salad and wonderful garlic mashed potatoes. The atmosphere is relaxing and tranquil. The restaurant is decorated with turtle lights, a bamboo ceiling and netting. They also offer two for one during happy hour and early bid specials. Service was quick and curteous. A must when you are in the area!

  • 2. Friendly Fisherman Waterfront Seafood Restaurant
Friendly Fisherman Restaurant, Madeira Beach, Florida

The Friendly Fisherman is a casual place offering great seafood at moderate prices. They also serve breakfast. It was such a pleasure to enjoy a good breakfast while watching the dolphins jump at John's Pass. The restaurant offers a seafood omlette that was just wonderful. It was stuffed with grouper, shrimp and scallops. It was served with delicious home fries or hasbrowns and toast.

  • 3. Sea Critters Cafe
    http://www.seacritterscafe.com

This Key West style establishment offers many seafood choices at a reasonable price. The restaurant is located in the quaint Pass-A-Grille area. The seafood was fresh and delicious. They offer conch fritters, grouper nuggets, as well as other appetizers. The margaritas a reknown in the area and are half off during happy hour. The service was top notch and friendly.

  • 4. Spoto's Steak Joint

Spoto's is a finer, quiet, dark restaurant. Perfect for a romantic evening. They serve wonderful peasant bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese dip. The grouper was very good. The entrees were served with excellent garlic mashed potatoes and salad. They have a good selection on their early bird menu and serve two for one drinks during happy hour. The filet mignon was very good, as was the pork dish on the menu.

  • 5. Sculley's
Sculley's Boardwalk Grille, Madeira Beach, Florida

I have to say that this was my only disappointment during our stay at Madeira Beach. The shrimp scampi was small, served with a lot of vegetables. The pistachio encrusted grouper was good, but not great. It also came with a large portion of broccoli on the side. Both entrees were served with average tasting garlic mashed potatoes. We ate outside on the boardwalk seating area. The atmosphere was more busy and bar-like. The service was good. Sculley's has a great location at John's Pass, but needs to improve their menu.

  • 6. Salt Rock Grill
Salt Rock Grill, Indian Shores, Florida

The Salt Rock Grill is a nicer restaurant. It is great for a special occassion, such as an anniversary. We went for our anniversary and had to ask for a window seat three times before we were escorted to our table by the window with an attitude. The view was worth the hassle. The service is good. A bit slow on the drinks and we were never checked on to see how our meals were. The filet mignon was very good. I had it prepared with blue cheese inside. My husband's entree was a seafood sampler platter, since he could not decide on which seafood he wanted to try. They do have a large seafood menu. All of the seafood was wonderful. The salmon was prepared on a cedar grilling plank. The tuna was the best I have ever had. This is what the restaurant specializes in. Overall, the food was great, service was just OK, and the view was very nice. We felt the menu was a bit pricey. They do offer an early bird menu, also. Reservations are encouraged.
