Jomeokee also served as a landmark along the trail that from Virginia to Georgia.
The orange-blazed trail starts just behind the restroom near the parking lot, and drops down along side the small pinnacle as it winds towards the mountain. The trail is relatively easy to navigate, with little up and down terrain as you traverse the mountain itself, but it gives you a nice look at the geology of the mountain, and there are plenty of small nooks to sit down and have a lunch while looking over the Piedmont area spread below the mountain.
Although it circumnavigates the base of the large pinnacle, it still offers unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape, and is good to get a broad view of the place, good for families with small children or those just looking to stretch their legs and see the mountainside a bit. less «
