This is a small fort which has been converted into a heritage hotel with just seven rooms - named after the days of the week. Great view over the sea but that's about it. We did not stay here. Just came for a visit. There is no beach that I could see and it is a steep climb down to... More

There is just one reason why you should stay here - THE VIEWS..The drive to the place is also very interesting as you need to cross over in a ferry and you pass by beautiful villages..The staff is very helpful..Light breakfast & dinner is covered. We stayed in off season when prices were slashed and we found the place to... More

Driving down from Maharashtra on the interior roads entering Goa, you come across Tiracol. Beautiful little fort with 7 rooms only. We stopped for the first Beer in Goa, the timing was right in the afternoon, grabbed a quick bite alongwith chilled beer. Beautiful view all around of the sea and the beaches. It seems like a look out point... More

This is an old portuguese fort located at the mouth of a river that flows into the sea. The fort looks down on the ocean. There's no beach at the hotel, nor a pool. Turns out, you don't really need them! You can hop on a motorcycle and put-put your way around the very nice beaches and places to eat.... More

Here's what you shouldn't expect: *staff who greet you, or even seem particularly pleased you're there to give them business *wi-fi. Unfortunately my husband had to get some work done, so he ended up dominating the hotel's portable wireless device. *reliably warm water *a comfortable mattress *any information on the history of the place or area, let alone maps *a... Being a historian my love for all things old and historical is well known to my hubby. When I announced before leaving for Goa that we were visiting a Fort at the northern most edge of Goa he agreed without raising an eyebrow. Fort Tiracol was built by the Marathas and was taken over by the Portuguese. It is a... More

We visited Tiracol Fort Heritage on a day trip a few weeks ago. The view is to die for and somebody has clearly done a very good job restoring and maintaining the old fort. Since it has the only restaurant in the area we thought we'd stay for lunch and that proved to be a mistake. In hindsight we should... More

We visited Fort Tiracol for three nights. There are seven rooms each named after days of the week - we stayed in 'Thursday'. The bedroom was well fitted and of a decent size (television, two fans etc), the bathroom was palatial with a well powered open plan shower. There was a small balcony with two chairs and a table leading... More

After a 1.5 hr taxi drive from Goa airport, we finally arrived at the small car ferry over the river to Terakhol. 4 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk once off the ferry the fort is a mile or so down the road built on the high hill above the estuary below. We couldnt have asked for more perfect introduction... More
