I spent four nights in Tabi Tabi, ideal place if you are looking for a nice accomodation closer to some of the best beaches in Izu peninsula. Even though I really loved the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of this place, as well as some commodities inside such as organic soaps available in the shower and coffee, tea, etc. in commonal... More

At first my partner and I were spooked as we were the only ones in Tabi-Tabi. It was dead quiet at night and there were few people around. It became better in the morning when we realized that Kisami (the town Tabi-tabi is in, which is a 15 minutes bus ride away from Izukyu Shimoda) is a beautiful place. We... More

Hi Adrian, Sorry to hear you were a little spooked when you first arrived. You joined us very early in the season which meant you had the whole place to yourselves! We thought you would really appreciate the privacy! It's true, the neighbourhood is very quiet, but it is also very safe. There is really nothing to be afraid of.... More

Tabi-tabi guest house was a short 3-5 minute walk from the bus stop and was very easy to access from the main train station in town. The guesthouse is very well maintained and has a very relaxing feel to it. The kitchen area is clean and well-organized and the entire guest house is very inviting. There is a computer that... More

Tabi-tabi is located very close to wonderful beaches in Shimoda, in a quiet area that still has services and facilities close by. Buses to town run from stops close by, but if you're staying for the sea you can just take a short walk to the beach. Facilities in the guest-house are good, you have access to a well equipped... Amazing value, as with tabitabihakuba. Awesome owners - super-helpful, friendly & cool - went out of their way to show us around :-) Lovely, picturesque rooms. Easy walk to one of the best beaches in Izu, great value Japanese breakfasts served nearby, and super-good Western-style food at another restaurant just a short walk away! NB Due to the area, you'll... More

Thanks, Fizz from Machida! By the way, the brownie place is called "South Cafe" (not surf cafe but it definitely has a surfer's vibe). Their banana bread with ice-cream is also yum! More
