We had such a nice, relaxing time at this ryokan. We picked it based on other reviews on TA and were not disappointed. It is a relatively large inn compared to other ryokans, but still very quiet. In fact, we had the entire women's common baths to ourselves one afternoon (granted, not regular bathing time). The hotel itself is alright.... More

Ryokans in Yufuin can cost a bomb, so if you're looking for something nice but mid-priced (approx. 15,000 Yen per person full board, compared to over 50,000 Yen at some of the more luxe places), Yawaraginosato would be a good pick. The hotel is conveniently located at the end of a small lane just off the main tourist street. If... More

Great location, close to lake kinrinko (small but pretty lake, compared with US everything here comes in small size) and main shopping area yet not in the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian areas. Our room has two beds and one futon, sparkling clean and spacious. One night we chose plan without dinner and ate in the city. Noted that... More

This was a lovely spot! The information Center at the train station will give you an English map of the town and mark Yadoya on it. It is about a 15 minute walk through a charming resort town- full of interesting shops, galleries and visitors. Yadoya itself consists of several buildings. Reception is in the main building. You'll leave your... More

On the official tourist map you can pick up at the JR station, it just says Odoya. It’s not easy to find first time around. I recommend you take a taxi from the station when you arrive Yufuiin, at 650yen. There are lockers inside the station. If they are full, don’t worry. Across the street , you will see a... More

Ryokan was about 15 min walk from station. We had 2 nights in 22m2 Japanese-style room (means 2 rooms + bathroom, toilet and small hall). Ordered also 2 dinners - sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. Friendly staff, welcome-gift, farewell gift, tasty food, great location, lot of fuss with footwear:) The Japanese experience what we expected! There is also 2 onsens separately for... More

This hotel has really huge rooms. Big enough to have 2 single beds and a tatami mat. Its located about 15 mins walk from the train station. You exchange your shoes for indoor slippers while inside the lodging complex. And you will change into outdoor slippers for the breakfast and onsen complex. Nice 4 outdoor onsen that can be booked... This was my favorite night out of all of my 3 weeks stay in Japan. The village of Yufuin is absolutely charming with a great backdrop - Mt Yufu. I made my reservation directly through their website (side note: the place is also known as simply "Yadoya", actually on the free Yufuin Ryokan map I picked up in the Yufuin... More

Bunch of us stayed here for a few days early November, decided upon Yufuin instead of Beppu as we were looking for a small town rather than a large city. The hotel was very easy to find (we took a taxi first time as recommended by a fellow trip advisor, Y500 and worth it as its tucked away in a... More

We have stayed here several times so far. We have stayed at other places and also checked Japanese travel magazines and internet sites. The rooms are good size but the bath room is small business hotel size. There are three free private time reserved outdoor onsen baths (kashikiri rotenburo). We usually take onsen upon arrival, before bed time & at... More
