Pros: Great location, very good breakfast (not included in the price), reliable, high-pressure shower. Cons: Even when I asked for a quiet room, there were lots of noises all day long and also during the night; man at front desk not very kind, parking lot is 2-3 blocks away, way up; mattresses and pillows are not comfortable but cheap, room... Stayed at La Casa de Piedra for the second time. Mostly OK this time except for one big problem – mold and mildew everywhere. The tables in the common area had mold on the tablecloths. We removed one and the table was covered in black mold. Our room had a very musty smell and the bedspread always felt damp. The... More

We were the only guests for 3 nights in October 2010. Our room (#17) was rustic, but clean. The shower had great hot water and lots of water pressure. A nice capable ceiling fan (always on high though) cooled the room when needed. Restaurant wasn't open. Loved Cuetzalan and its people! We will return someday and will stay here again. More

This is a very charming family-owned hotel, converted from a former beneficio de cafe right in the middle of town. The rooms are surprisingly quiet , given that they all windows out to the street, but Cuetzalan is not a noisy place and I can't imagine this ever being a real problem. The location is excellent: a few blocks downhill... More

Stayed 3 nights. Loved Cuetzalan, so interesting/charming. This hotel appeared to be prettiest when I searched on line, and it is indeed, though as others said, it's rather expensive. The place was practically deserted 2 of the 3 nights we were there. Perhaps because there were so few guests (or absence of owners?), the staff pretty much ignored us. The... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at La Casa De Piedra Hotel during our honeymoon in 2006. Our stay was amazing! The town is beautiful and well worth the extra traveling time to get there. We were lucky to find such a nice hotel with a wonderful staff that was more than happy to help us have a beautiful... More

This little hotel located in the cloud/rain forest of NE Puebla state in Mexico is a gem. Getting there takes some patience but it is worth it for the people who want to get off the beaten track . Waterfalls, caves and horseback riding are some on the activities that can be arranged by the very helpful and caring staff... More
