I travel to Tokyo 3 or 4 times a year for buisness. Each time I stay at the Imperial Hotel it is like a visit to a more refined and dignified period when travel and superior guest service and comfort went hand in hand. The well dressed and dignified Imperial staff is waiting for each guest as they arrive and... More

I have staid in this elegant hotel many times The view from the room (if you get the proper one) is fantastic. As overlooking the Imperial Palace is a privilege. However the excellence of this hotel is now ruined by their policy of receiving large discounted tours, thus most of the hotel ammenities Are unusable. for example their is now... More

The folks at the Imperial Hotel take allready excellent Japanese service to new highs (or perhaps back old traditional levels of truly Imperial service). Staff greet and bow for you every time they enter or exit the elevators. Concierge, front desk, house keeping, bell and all the staff are simply the best of the best. They greet and bow everytime... I stayed at this hotel with a friend who was traveling on business. Didn't have high expectations as the property looked old fashioned from the hotel website, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful and superbly maintained hotel with large rooms and staff that treated me like royalty. The rooms were huge and I loved the attention to... More

This is the Grand Dame Hotel of Tokyo, like the Peninsula of Hong Kong, the Raffles of Singapore, and the Mandarin Oriental of Bangkok, this hotel has a sense of history and a long list of illustrious guests. The property is large, occupying an entire block, so expect to walk a bit from reception to the room. Service was very... More

There are 5 star hotels then there are hotels in the class of the Imperial in central Tokyo. What can you say about a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired property? I have seen folks write a little dated -- please that is old world style. I have seen people write the rooms in the tower are small -- compared to what,... More

We spent 2 nights in the hotel while attending a wedding. We have visted Tokyo many times and normally stay at another hotel in the Ginza which unfortunately will be closing. The Imperial was chosen by the groom's family. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and were given a lovely room facing the Imperial Gardens on the 11th floor... More

I've just returned from a 4 day business trip staying at the Imperial. I hadn't been there for 9 years and I felt it was only yesterday when I stepped back into the lobby. This is a hotel where everything has attention to detail - the staff, the service, the rooms and the restaurants. It's expensive but anything really good... More

A very nice, established, well positioned hotel in the middle of Tokyo. Usual exceptional Japanese service and not particularly cheap of course. Definitely one of Tokyo's best hotels but could use a little face lift in the rooms, which are slightly dated.

We just returned from a 3 week trip to Japan, and could not be happier with the Imperial Hotel. We stayed there for 5 nights when we arrived and then on our last night before flying back home. On the day we arrived, at 7am, they gave us our room immediately, with no extra charge, so we could nap after... More
