My partner and I spent 1 week here recently after becoming a little tired of touristy hotels over the last few years. After reading the description on the b and b's website we kind of knew what to expect. The directions given are good and the place is just 10 mins from the airport. You definately need a car unless you are... We stayed one week (came back last Saturday) and had a very good time. The place is beautiful,an old Menorcan country house, very well conserved. Rooms are good size and clean. Service is also very good. Breakfast is abundant and with different options of local products every day, plus... toasts, eggs, jam, yogurts etc.. You can cook your own meals... More

We stayed 3 nights here. The B&B is set in lovely grounds and the converted rooms offer lots of character. The location (despite proximity to the airport) is peaceful. However, it felt a little like there was lots more the place could offer. Whilst the owners and staff were very pleasant, service was a little haphazard. For instance, because the... More

we stayed here in june 2011 desperatly seeking a tranquil break from the hustle of work and busy lives. We were looking for an alternative to big chain hotels and bland buffet food. We were cautiousof the thought of b&b although being frequent visitors to menorca spoke little spanish and loved the beaches of santa thomas, but we neednt have... More

We are just home having spent a week at the beautiful Matchani Gran. I can't rate this place highly enough- the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, the pool area and gardens are immaculately kept and an ideal space for relaxing in the sun. We had access to the bar and kitchen at all times. The breakfast was substantial, the... More

We stood at Matchani Gran for 14 days in August and it was really a pleasant and quiet stay. You realize that the new Spanish managment has experience in the hotellerie. The country house is really beautiful and the rooms are very characteristic with nice ancient furniture but fantastic new viscoelastic mattresses. The breakfast is abundant and varied served under... What you see on the website is what you get, wonderfull hosts and a tranquil setting. The rooms were immaculate and in keeping with local tradition. The house and gardens are lovely. Our hosts Shaun and Jenny were great and treated us as I`m sure they would like to be treated themselves. Shaun seemed to know when you wanted to... More

From the moment we arrived, the welcome we received from Shaun and the other guests was amazing. The house is gorgeous, the bar & pool areas great places to relax and enjoy conversing with our hosts and fellow guests. Our room was rustic and pretty. I loved the way everyone looked after each other, so refreshing. Shaun and Jenny were... More

We have just had 12 relaxing days at Matchani Gran. Shaun and Jenny could not have been better hosts, from the free drinks on arrival to the excellent dinners on the nights Jenny cooked the service could not be faulted. An atmospheric, sympathetically restored farmhouse with a surprise around every corner. Well run and with a mix of like minded... More

If you are looking for new and modern accommodation, forget Matchani Gran.! This is a sympathetically converted farm house full of atmosphere and character. Our hosts, Shaun and Jenny Murphy , welcomed us so genuinely and generously with free drinks and a delicious lunch. This was but a taste of things to come ! A case of wine(compliments of the... More

No relation, honestly. Makes it all wothwhile. Doing a good job here is like wetting yourself in a dark suit. It gives you a warm feeling, but no one really notices. Sometimes! More
