Warm welcome, excellent food and comfortable accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, every one was cheerful, helpful and extremely pleasant. Extensive choice menu - portions were enormous, wine list was varied and sensibly priced. Would happily recommend and intend to return soon. More

I often visit this area and need somewhere for dinner with my son. This time we chose The Pelican. It remains an excellent proper local pub which also caters for the traveler and has guest rooms. The food and service were both excellent - I had an excellent Roast Lamb and my son a very good steak and I paid... More

I hadn't eaten in the Pelican for years but wanted a country pub lunch with my family on my birthday. The heavy smell when we walked in was one of their deep fat fryer.....I should have realised what was to come. Firstly I couldn't find any salads on the menu so i asked for the duck and pear salad starter... More

I found the staff exceedingly friendly. We were greeted with a smile and given friendly instructions about where we could dine, about the smoking areas and the inn's facilities. Our meal - steak - was cooked very nicely. Our room was spacious and tidy. We asked for room service (not sure if normal procedure there or not) for our desserts... More

We were caught in a bind that there are no hotels/B&B's in Warminster & the hotels in Salsbury all thought they were 5 star ratings when the told me their rates. Sometimes you can have problems finding hotels/B&B's in England not sure why. In any case we found a cute Inn just off the highway between the 2 towns &... More

We arrived at just after 7pm on saturday, The restaurant was completely empty, there were a few people in the bar area eating. We asked for a table for two and were told very rudely that all the tables were booked for 7pm. We pointed out that there was nobody at all in the restaurant but the staff made no... More

I stayed here on the way to a wedding and was looking for somewhere cheap and convenient to spend the night. The Pelican Inn was exactly what I was after, with decent rooms in a nice and easily accessible location. My only gripe is the noise. I was staying on a Saturday night and there was a lot of shouting... More

Gave me exactly what I wanted for my 8 might stay. Easy access and no problem with coming and going at strange hours due to my chaotic schedule. Always friendly and ready with a great breakfast to start the day or nightcap to close it. Could have done with a decent Internet access in the room and not being able... More

We stayed here overnight for my birthday in order to visit stone henge. The room was shocking - dirty, with a broken, filthy kettle, and a very uncomfortable bed. The rooms are actually a seperate building from the pub and are situated right next to the beer garden. We got very little sleep due to the noise of the punters... More
