Staying at Dalhousie Castle was definitely an experience! There are many castles that one can stay in while visiting Scotland, but this one was the one we found most accessible from Edinburgh. The castle itself is located about 20 minutes away via taxi (or car if you have one) from the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. I know there is a... More

The look of the castle is great. The staff however are generally terrible, although redeemed by some of the restaurant staff. The meal was absolutely fantastic. A real complement to the chef. The staff need a pick up or need to be changed.

Spent 1night in Dalhousie castle to see if we wanted to have our wedding there. The +: the building is impressive - true castle! the dungeon restaurant is great and was properly heated. The food was excellent (at international standards so reliable). The common areas are neat and the staff is welcoming and efficient. We got upgraded to a executive... More

Our first "castle stay" and one of the highlights of our 10 week holiday. Our room was lovely, dinner in the dungeon restaurant was very special, walking around the grounds was pleasant - what more can I say, except I would love to have stayed longer to enjoy the activities they provide (trout fishing, archery, clay pigeon shooting), but we... We stayed here Dinner, Bed and Breakfast in a themed four-poster room one night for our anniversary. Dalhousie Castle looks inside and out as one would hope a Castle should be. It is set in significant grounds. As you arrive you go past the falconry, with many owls, hawks and the odd Eagle. Archery targets are nearby, no archers on... More

Spent a night here returning to the place we married 14 years ago, it has since been updated with inclusion of an Orangery and Spa Suite. We did take afternoon tea in the orangery and both the food and service was excellent, tea for two costing £23.95. In the evening dinner was taken in the infamous Dungeon Restaurant and couldn't... I had booked this place for 2 rooms through Celtic castles over 6 months early(not a wise thing to do ) and our reservation was never made to Dalhousie. Because I had printed off our booking number from Celtic, Dalhousie honoured that booking then up graded us to themed rooms. I can no say how much respect i have for... More

On our recent trip to Scotland we wanted to do something just a little out of the ordinary. Dalhousie Castle fit the bill nicely. It's an actual castle, so it comes with some history, some wear and tear (none too obvious), lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore, and many steps. If you are uncomfortable with stairs, this may... More

We arrived at Dalhousie Castle and was at once met by Allister with an umbrella to shelter us from the rain - we went to reception where a young man booked us in - we were given our room key by a lady who was very pleasant. The Reception Area though left a lo to be desired it is very... More

We initially reserved two rooms, one for my husband and myself, and one for our two teenage girls. We were given a basement suite, I believe they said it was the honeymoon suite. It turns out our suite had two rooms and was large enough for all of us. The walls were all stone and there was a well in... More
