Stayed here on 13th May ... first night of a Highlands and Islands trip. Received a fantastic welcome, excellent food and even the wildlife turned up on cue! Rooms are light and airy with amazing views. If you like peace, quiet, and the great outdoors, this place is a must.

Hi Helene1000, Rannoch Moor certainly is a quiet place so I am glad the deer turned up during dinner to give us all a show. I hope you had a great time on the rest of your trip around Scotland and look forward to seeing you again if you return to the moor. Scott & Steph More

From the moment that we walked through the door to be greeted by a pot of tea and a roaring fire, we could not have asked for more! Scot and Steph made use feel like family - not guests. The food was fantastic and enjoyed in the dining area with great views over the moors. The bar stocked some great... More

Hi SteveMor, Thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. I hope your legs have recovered form you expedition. Glad to hear that Steph's breakfast set you up for the day and that you enjoyed your dry kit (nothing worse than putting on wet waterproofs in the morning). Four of us stay there on 11th May for one night only on a cycling holiday. We had arrived there by train , stayed one night and then cycled to Pitlochry. A superb one day cycle ride. Scott and sam had only taken over this place for 8 days however you would think they had been there for ever. Very... More

Hi Nick A, Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and I hope you all enjoyed your rather long cycle tour of Scotland. In the absence of TV, Radio, Internet & Mobile reception the deer continue to provide entertainment during dinner and even pose for the odd photo. If you are passing by on your bikes again... More

So great to get off the night sleeper to walk into a total welcome by name and a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast. Superb views from the windows but all warm and air-tight when the gales started and the rainswept windows were battered. Spotless rooms and inviting bar and common room. Is for sale and may be changing hands shortly but... More

From the minute we knocked on the door in dripping wet smelly walking gear with an equally smelly dog to check in to the minute we departed they couldn't do enough for us! From a large pot of warming tea on arrival, to offering to tumble dry our walking gear and even offing to hang up our hiking tent to... More

Cannot rate this place highly enough, excellent rooms, the service was second to none and the homecooked food was some of the best I have ever tasted, well worth the long drive (Ireally thought we were almost there at Kinloch Rannoch) Cant wait to go back!

Stayed for one night in September but wish we had been able to stop longer. Magnificent location - we stopped off on a train trip through Scotland. Very welcoming hosts and room of high standard. View to moor and mountains from bedroom. Stunning. Log fires and good choice of menu for dinner. Breakfast buffet good with endless coffee and wholesome... More

We stayed for two nights and can highly recommend it. Our room was of a high standard with tea/coffee making facilities plus a dish of chocolates. We could lie on our bed and enjoy the stunning view through the window of the moors and distant hills. The owners made you feel welcome and at home. There was a cosy log... More

Stayed here for two nights in October and loved it. Positives: Location – 2 minutes from Rannoch station in the middle of Rannoch Moor. Nearest village is 12 miles away. Very remote, very quiet (no through road), two beautiful lochs either side (one within 5 mins walk), mountains in the back ground, great walks (Glen Coe 12 miles). Wild deer... More

I stayed here with 6 friends for a cycling weekend. Robert was very welcoming even though we arrived late, a glass of wine before bed. We got up early to a wonderful breakfast which set us up for a great day in the hills. Cycling along the old road to the isles is not recommended as it is very muddy... More
