What we really loved was the whole area; landing in Malaga, then going to Ronda and ending up in Jimena de la Frontera in El Anon and then moving down to Zahara de los Atunes. Beautiful scenery, great food and authentic Andalucía with mountain and beach.

I visited the hotel and it was almost empty and I think I know the reason why. I ordered a ham and cheese tapas and was presented with two bread rolls and a couple of slices of bland ham and cheese and then charged seventeen Euros. The view is very nice but charging such ridiculous prices for awful food is... More

A really beautifully positioned hotel, though the castle elements are somewhat hidden by the modernisation. Lovely, airy public rooms and very friendly, maybe not the most professional, staff, but helpful in the extreme. Food is ok to good but (I guess) variable. If its very hot, make sure the aircon is working in your room before accepting it. Bedrooms are... More

We attended a friends wedding. The venue and quality of food was superb however the room left a lot to be desired. The room itself was fine but quite shabby. The bridal suite was fantastic, would recommend for an intimate wedding..

This hotel setting is lovely, overlooking a small spanish village, and the decor in the hotel has been done in the moorish style. It looked like quite a modern hotel but is sympathetic to the style of an old castle which once stood on the site. We attended a family wedding with a mediaeval theme and it was a perfect... More

We had our wedding here and it was magical! Helpful staff, got loads organised via the venue (flowers, cake, decorations, place cards etc were included in the price) which made it easy, food was delicious, wine was plentiful... Only downside was the breakfast the next day which was a bit poor but in general, would totally recommend for anyone wishing... More

We recently stayed in Monda castle for our wedding. The venue is out of this world & on the day everything went really well. However this hotel is badly run. We booked in a few days before the wedding . I asked for a boiled egg for breakfast and was told I would be able to have a boiled egg... More

We have just returned from our Sons wedding at Monda Castle. At the moment the Castle is really not functioning as an hotel, only being open Friday thro. Sunday lunch. This is a shame because the new owners are really trying to keep the place running, but because of its location the castle is never going to attract enough guests to... More

During our three week trip driving through Spain where we stayed in a variety of hotels, this was the most disappointing. The location and appearance of the building were cool, but we were given a room with a strange odor and a so so view that included a dump. Fortunately, they allowed us to reduce our stay to only one... More
