A friend and I stayed at this B&B for a couple of nights, visiting the nearby Dalwhinnie whisky distillery. Situated next to a small mountain stream, very calming to listen to at night, the house is surrounded by hills, great for hiking/cycling during the day. Warm, clean and cosy room, quiet surroundings (a train passes by every now and again,... More

We spent two nights here for a hillwalking trip. Rooms are very comfortable, good food and very welcoming hosts. Really couldn't ask for anything more and we hope to stay here again. The nearby A9 isn't noticeable inside the house and while you hear the odd train, it's a relatively quiet railway route and really isn't a problem. More

Stayed with my dog for one night and was excellent. Lovely watching the trains go by and views spectacular. Location ideal as just off A9. Loads of good cycling options available for all abilities and preferences. You can do some excellent trail riding or take a gentle spin along the sustrans route on your doorstep. Owners very welcoming and friend,... More

This was just perfect for us. Cycling from Perth on cycle path route 7, this was an ideal stop for us and what a treat it was. We have passed Balnasporran while heading up the hills on a days walk and although next to a railway line, when we stayed there we never heard a train pass at all. The... More

I just stayed one night in Balsporran before I took part in the Drumochter Estate grouse count along with my German Shorthaired Pointer, who stayed in the room with me. The white house is easily spotted from the A9 and sits right by the railway line as it used to be used by railway workers prior to conversion to the... More

It's out a bit in the middle of nothing, the closest wee town being Dalwhinnie, so one needs a reason to come here, like climbing a particular Munro. But the B&B is lovely, the owners are obliging, and all the rooms are en suite. More

My husband and I stay here for 2 nights and it was great. Ann and Phil were great hosts, we stayed up the first night chatting. We did some traveling the following day and the location was a great half way point to our desitnation. More

I stayed here, probably the same night as the previous reviewer, with my young son and a family relative, who had stayed here before on a few occasions. It was on his recomendation that we stayed here, on our way up to Durness, and what a recomendation! It is a snall (4 bedroom) B&B in an absolutley stunning location. The... More

My husband and I only stopped one night but were absolutely delighted with the cottage and the scenery was spectacular. What on earth the last reviewer was on about I don't know.......yes it is near to a major road but not near enough for it to spoil your stay. The noise from the road was minute and when you were...
