My husband and I stayed here for one night on the way to Santander. The car parking directly outside the hotel was excellent, the room was lovely and really warm and cosy. The meal in the restaurant was quite expensive but the food was lovely. The breakfast was really nice. I would definitely stay there again More

The parador is lovely, but pricey. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient and our room was large and comfortable. The free wi-fi worked very well. We loved Calahorra. Walk out of the parador into Paseo del Mercadal and enjoy the bars, cafes and the atmosphere. Enjoy a lovely breakfast of freshly squeezed orange, coffee and toast or pain... More

We stayed two nights in this parador (booked through Brittany Ferries) in a standard room - which was lovely. Huge room with views out over the mountains in the distance at the rear of the hotel. The room (as in most paradors) was beautifully furnished and lots of space - lovely bathroom and overall a lovely hotel - plenty of... More

In our travel to Barcelona we stayed at Parador de Calahorra. The rooms (one for use and one for children) were spacious, clean and pleasant. The breakfast was great. The parador atmosphere was wonderful. The stuff was very helpful - from recommendations where to dine to sending our cellular phone that we forgot. In spite of boring town we had... More

Unless you need to stay in Calahorra, I would avoid it and chose a nicer nearby Parador. No complaints at all about the hotel, which was more than equal to the other Paradors we stayed in...it really was just down to the town itself....it is the only Spanish town where we felt uncomfortable about walkinmg around the streets. A good overnight stop on the way between northern Spain and the Med. Big mansion with lots of wood inside, giving a warm, inviting atmosphere although with quite a bit of noise from adjacent rooms. Our room, on a high floor at the back, was very comfortable and much better than the rooms we were given in Gijon and Benevente... More

My wife and I stayed for one night in transit from Santander to Barcelona. It is very close to a motorway junction. The parador which is a recent build in a traditional style is a good place to stay although it is in the modern concrete part of the town which is not very attractive. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped.Food... Well, you've read the great reviews, but be careful when trying to book directly. I found a site called paradores.es, which had a page for this particular parador, pictures and all. It really looked like the hotel's page, so I made a reservation, with a good price - for which I did not have to pay in advance. However, when... More

On our recent trip, we stayed at two paradors, and both had amazing buildings, interesting rooms and great restaurants. The parador at Calahorra had a spacious room, a huge bathroom and a historic ambience. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious with enormous portions and charming service. All in all the hotel experience was excellent. However when... More

The Parador at Calahorra is an excellent hotel. Centrally located in the middle of the new area of Calahorra adjacent to the main park and central square with many nearby bars and restaurants. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped as well as spotlessely clean and comfortable. Quite possibly the biggest bed I have ever come across, super super... More
