We stayed here 10th & 11th June 2011 and loved it. The accommodation is a set of converted fishermens cottages and we were in one completely separate from the main house ( where breakfast is served; a small bar for the evenings; large TV; loads of interesting maps/fishing memorabilia; and internet access ). The rooms are basic, but very clean... More

Stayed at the Fishermans Village Lodge for four nights with a party of five friends. The attraction is that the accomodation has a parallel sea angling business and we stayed to fish the Atlantic with Michael who has the Rosguill Charter Boat. His wife Heather runs the B&B accomodation. The previous reviews are unfair and Heather is a great hostess,... More

This is a lovely b & b situated along the atlantic drive, just outside downings. The accomadation is to a very high standard, the views are spectacular and it was overall great value for money. The staff are also extremely helpful and friendly. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Thanks again Peter

We booked our stay at the Fisherman's village Lodge before reading the previous reviews and I have to say we were a slightly concerned given some of the negative comments. HOWEVER we could not have had a better stay, Heather was the perfect hostess and the accommodation was beautiful. We love this part of Donegal and we wanted to show... More

Stunning ocean & countryside scenery. About 3 miles from Downings village were there are a few good restaurants. A little unusual for a bed and breakfast because the bedrooms were in separate cottages, but only a few steps to the main house for breakfast/guest lounge. Typical B&B breakfast - juice, cerial & fried breakfast. Room was comfortable & clean with... More

I have used tripadvisor as a tool for choosing hotels for the past three years and my recent stay at Fishermans' Cottages has incensed me to write my first review! This b and b is absolutely awful. The previous reviewer has her spot on-she is indeed chilly. There is no warm Irish welcome from her whatsoever. Her demeanour does not... More

Our stay at the fishermans lodge has been a really nice experience! The location is excellent and rooms are no less furnished and cleaned than a 3 star hotel standard. We didn't book in advance, we just called the same day and were lucky enough to have the possibility to choose from two rooms, one with a double bed and... More

The really sad part about writing this review is that the place has enormous potential. First of all, it is in a prime area for fishing and sight-seeing along the northern coasts of Ireland. And having private cottages for the guests is a great idea. But here is where the potential becomes stalled in the reality. When we arrived, we... More
