We recently spent a week here, in a private ensuite room and were very happy with the whole deal. It's lodge/ryokan type lodging, ie you sleep on futons, with sliding rice paper screens etc, very atmospheric. The beds were very comfortable and there was lots of space, unlike many places in Japan. Staff were indifferent, breakfast was the same every day, rooms are not serviced. Whilst the staff did arrange lift tickets, they were not helpful in giving directions. Would not stay there again as you can get much better for the same price.
