This B&B is well worth a visit. We arrived to freshly-made scones, home-made jams and marmalade, and a pot of tea. As we arrived we were pleasantly invited to taste a cup of tea and freshly homemade scones! What a nice way to start our stay. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean, breakfast very good. We suggest this place!

Another most enjoyable stay in The Old Smiddy, Julie and Julian gave us a warm welcome and the scones with cream and jam were delicious and much appreciated. We were extremely well looked after, excellent breakfasts, comfortable surroundings and very knowledgeable hosts. The Old Smiddy also does evening meals on request, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We had 2 evening meals here when staying at another b and b in Laide. You have to book in advance, and Julie discusses the menu in detail. She provided 2 imaginative vegetarian dishes. The food was of a very high standard, better than in many restaurants and we would certainly recommend it without hesitation.

This was another chance find during touring, we stayed in the Garden Room which was perfect. Julie and Julian were perfect hosts and the breakfast was superb. Highly recommended.
