This is less a hotel and more a Chambres d'Hote - ie a bed and breakfast establishment. With that in mind, the rooms were delightful and our hosts charming. The only down side is the location. It is not really viable to walk out for an evening meal and you will need to drive. If you want elegance, quiet and... More

Their website is deceptive on three counts: 1) It says that the guest rooms are tastefully furnished and the pictured room on their site meets that description. Our room was more like a children’s dorm room: four twin beds, yard sale furniture, industrial wall-to-wall carpet, peeling paint. 2) The website says English is spoken. We attempted to discuss our disappointment... More

My husband, father and I stayed 3 nights in this charming place. It's tucked away about a 15 minute drive from Bordeaux. I felt like we were staying at a relative's chateau in the country. It is small and cozy, filled with interesting antiques. We especially loved the wood stove and the book case in the foyer. We had breakfast... More

Stayed for the Marathon du Medoc, second time I had visited the Chateau in a decade. The chateau was equally as lovely. Its on beautiful grounds, quiet, a wonderful getaway locale. You can't beat the almost 20 peacocks wandering the grounds who will come an inquire as you sip your evening wine on the lawn. Be sure and ask about... More

We loved this place! 4 of us rented an 'apartment' attached to the house. It had a really nice 'mature' feel to it. Two issues were that we thought it was 2-bedrooms we'd rented, but in reality was 1 bedroom, with a second bed a bed/sofa in the living room. Also the breakfast was a little dull. I just loved... We stayed at this wonderful chateau for 3 nights and were very impressed. Yes it is a little run down, but if it was in top condition you would be paying 3 to 4 times the nightly fee, not the very resonable cost it is. We were travelling as a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the wonderful estate. Parts of the Chateau were outdated, but it only adds to the overall charm. If you are looking for nightlife, excitement and standing showers, then this is not the place for you. We did not know what to expect at first, but once we arrived, we... More

The grounds of the estate are beautiful, but the place inside needs some serious remodeling. We stayed in two of the regular rooms and believe me I would never stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed three days and nights in one of the stand-alone 'apartements' converted from the outbuildings of this lovely chateau set in its own extensive grounds. After diving from the Loire Valley (one full hour of which was taken up in suburban Bordeaux by the most confusing road sign system I have ever had to negotiate anywhere in the... More

We stayed in the suite at the Chateau du Foulon for 2 nights upon recommendation of friend and were very pleased with our visit. We enjoyed a fire in the fireplace, walked the grounds, fed the peacocks and swans, and watched deer at dusk. Breakfast is included in the price and is an opportunity to meet the other guests (several... More
