For anyone interested in good taste, savoir vivre, exclusive food and wine and learning about new life experience in an exclusive setting, this is the place..We stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed it to the full. Our guests were caring, interesting and made us feel at home. We were "assigned" the modern bedroom on the floor, very comfortable. Excellent... More

We arrived straight from a trans-atlantic flight hoping to spend a few days resting up to before beginning a tour of the Dordogne in September. Clos de la Barbanne offers 4 guest rooms nestled amid the vineyards of St Emilion-Montagne , just minutes by bicycle or car from St Emilion. There is no better spot from which to explore St... More

We spent two nights at Clos de la Barbanne in August 2012 as part of a road trip of South West France and it was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The setting is absolutely idyllic - amongst the vineyards owned by the hosts, Annie and Laurent. It is about 4km from Saint Emilion, a lovely town... More

We were welcommed by warmth and friendlyness. Annie and Laurent are living not working at Clos de la Barbanne and this makes the atmosphere very special. The lodging was very good and the dinner fabulous, and it was topped by the wine. It is very special that a "Hotel" with two employees serve homemade dinner, five courses, and serve their... More

Lying sleepily in the shade, Portos the house cat sets tone of this country retreat. As self confessed B&B snobs, and after staying  in five smart hotels and Chambre d'hôte around Bordeaux this week, Clos de... More

Stayed two days Enid June to begin a tour of Bordeaux area and Dordogne Laurent and Annie could not be more hospitable - it actually felt more like staying with friends The dinner which we opted for on Day 1 was spectacular and would have passed muster in a very good French restaurant - but with a homely atmosphere Room... Friends recommended this B&B close to St Emilion and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We stayed in the Paraschiva suite which was upstairs and more private. It was lovely, spacious and light. Annie and Laurent are warm and gracious hosts and we appreciated their recommendations and reservations for meals and wine-tasting. Annie is an excellent cook and the meals... More

Being wine lovers there was no way for us come to france without visiting the Bordeaux vineyards. We choose Clos de la Barbanne for its great location and landscape view, the very goods reviews it had on the net and, most of all, because we wanted to get a real insight of the life in the vineyards. Truth is, it... More

A discret and stylish place located only 3 km from downtown Saint-Emilion. We discovered the secret of Concerto, the wine made by Laurent. It's probably the help he gets from the guests staying at the Clos de la Barbanne. So relaxing throlling through the vineyard, from dawn to dusk, peaking once in a while in the wine cellar... The cuisine... More
