In my opinion, this hotel is perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway. We visited with a small child and found this hotel simply not suited to our needs. The cottage was lovely but very small. For the price we paid, I think there could at least have been fresh things for making coffee and tea available. The items... More

My daughter Ashley , insisted that she see the leather back turtles lay eggs, so we decided to plan a trip to Grand Riviere Toco and book two self contained houses at Acajou Hotel . At first we were very worried as the accommodation had no air condition or no TV , but to our surprise none of this bothered... More

We stayed one night with friends that are living in Port of Spain. Our main goal was to see the leatherback turtles nesting on the nearby beach. It's in a very remote area which is unbelievably natural and forested. Upon arrival we were shown to our room which was an elevated cottage with wide sliding doors opening on to a... More

Peaceful getaway that slows you to reverse. Acajou, takes me back to a time when its surroundings were the exclusive pervue of the elite. On arrival Christina personified the expected service, followed by Tenicia, Antonia and Leslie who in my opinion exemplified an enthusiasm to please the guests. The six cottages are discretely placed to afford guests relative audio and... More

Stayed with young kid. Cottages are great. Wood, Charming. Clean. No A/C... but that's fine with fans. Lots of Mosquitos. Bring repellent. Babybed available. Excellent. There is not much to do, other than enjoying the cottages, no pool, no nothing. Very relaxed, but can get a little dull. Close to beach (with lots of sandflies). When turtels are not around... More

I stayed at this resort for a day on June 1,2012 and was happy with my stay. It is next to the beach where tourists gather to watch leather back turtles come on shore to lay eggs at night. It was like staying in the middle of a forest with the birds in the resort area. Rooms are neat. The... More

It was too short a stay. After reading all the other reviews, I was a bit skeptical but as they say ' u have to see it to believe it". It took us some hours to get there with the roads and stuff but boy oh boy, it was worth it. The scenery en route was just beautiful, the air... More

I'll have to say it was simple, neat & nice. after all the reviews i read i was a bit skeptical, but after under standing the type of place (nature oriented) on the out side, gorgeous rivers and breathtaking scenery, and understanding its in a remote part of Trinidad some bad and narrow roads with ruff sea's (we did find...
