First things first, don't expect to swim in the sea in front of this hotel. The view is great and it looks spectacular, but it mainly serves as a harbour for small craft and is really not good for swimming. Besides that, this is really a nice hotel. We stayed in seaview rooms and the view was great, especially at...

This hotel is located convenient to local shops and spas. There are 2 pools, the one by the beach is heavily used and therefore has a sunscreen slick by 4pm, the other one is slightly bigger and is rarely used. Breakfast is very good and you can walk along the beach and choose where to eat dinner. Room was clean...

Lastminute.com shows that Samaya Bura have self-rated themselves as 4 star, Samaya Bura have wishful thinking that’s for sure! They’re 2 star at best.
When we arrived the hotel looked amazing, but it soon became clear once we got to our room that it definitely lacked polish (to put it politely). Our mountain view room is actually a road view...

Samaya Bura is a beautiful looking hotel, the Thai beach hut style pool/bar/restaurant area and hotel grounds are simply picturesque – especially at night during the Christmas/NYE period with all the lights! The hotel backs onto the beach, and although Lamai Beach isn’t exactly what you see on the postcards (it’s a bit dirty, just littered with driftwood and other...

Tried Spa Samui ( too old, though cheaper), tried Buddy, their shower is stronger and water goes faster, but Buddy has mosquitoes inside their rooms. Although Samaya Buri has a smaller pool, its room is cleaner. The worst part is their bath tub. The water doesn't go and you make your toilet wet after a shower. Needs improvement.

...we didn't and we regret it!
First of all, the mountain view rooms are road view rooms and the road is extremely noicy 24/7!
Bad service, like they don't care you are there! Poor (but poor!) breakfast, they also forget to refill and you will need to remind them that they are out of .... the one kind of croissant...

Having left the bedbug area at yantarasiri hotel in Chiang Mai, we were quite scared of being attacked by those pests again but we were quite relieved to find none. We were also quite relieved to find that Samui was a great place with not a single rodent found during our first 2 and a half days there. However, on...
