We stayed here just after leaving the Paul Gauguin 11 night cruise. We were given a day room from 1-8pm to hang out before our 11pm flight to LAX. It was great to have a bed and a shower, the pool was very nice but the beach area was disappointing compared to the clear water we experienced on our cruise.... More

So we left for our honeymoon the day after our wedding, after a 3 hr flight from HOU to LAX, then leaving LAX at 4pm and arriving in Tahiti at 9 pm (their time) we were greeted by a transfer service who immediately took our bags for us and loaded us on the van and took us to the hotel.... More

We stayed here overnight on our way home from the outer islands. It was close to the airport for our early morning flight and the price was good. Although we’d hoped to spend a few hours in Papeete in the afternoon, our flight from Bora Bora was delayed and we no longer had time to go to town. We hadn’t... More

My husband and I spent one night here before going to Bora Bora. The hotel was nice and so was the staff. Breakfast was also very good. The only awful thing was the bed was so uncomfortable. Sleeping on the floor would have been softer. Your bones dig into the "mattress" which caused both of us to wake up in... More

Dear Sir / Madam, Thank you very much for your feed-back concerning your stay at Sofitel Tahiti. Your comment about the beds has been well taken into consideration. We are about to receive new matresses that will imrpove the quality of our beds. It's too bad you did not benefit from this change, about to come. Best regards More

My wife booked 2 nights here based on some lovely photos of the hotel (which had artistic licence as they didn't actually show the concrete box of a hotel, just some nice bits like the pool / restaurant) The hotel rooms were ok but long corridors, impersonal and corporate design and absolutely no character was what we found. Expensive pool... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for letting us know your feeling about your stay at Sofitel Tahiti. It seems you did not like the island and we are sorry for that. Tahiti has charms that are located mostly on the interior of the island, unlike its sister islands. We are glad your holidays in Moorea went well and are looking forward... More

Naturally we had read all the reviews on this hotel and were left confused by conflicting opinions. We enjoyed our two nights here before heading to Bora Bora for the following reasons; Positives - Very close to airport. -affordable price for mountain view room. - Authentic Polynesian style. -Comfortable bed (yes it was 2 king singles pushed together but it... I spent a day at the Sofitel following a cruise. My "superior" (ocean view) room was disappointing. I could see the ocean only by standing in a corner and looking out over air-conditioning units and tarred rooftops. The restaurant is very overpriced, the food is mediocre, and the service is terrible. I asked for water repeatedly; I finally had to... More

We actually did not spend the night at this hotel but had a room for one day and we're happy it wasn't more! We stayed in Papeete as a 'stop over' to Moorea. The hotel ambiance is nice, the pool is really pretty, restaurant was nice, and service was good. The shower wouldn't really drain, small room, odd patio and uncomfortable bed. We stayed at their sister hotel in Moorea, and couldn't have been happier. In Moorea our bed was too hard, and... More
