We stayed at Enagron with my family for over a week. The cottages are gorgeous with real atmosphere. The food was divine and the cooking class lots of fun. The location is great if you are into hiking. Mary and Fanny have made the stay even better with their superb tips and the complimentary raki, You must go! More

We stayed three nights in these cottages last July. The surroundings are beautiful, nice walks if you go early morning or late afternoon when less hot.The accommodation was good but in our cottage the bed was under the roof (mezanine) and the air conditioning was not working properly to make it cool enough to sleep comfortably. Sitting on the balcony... More

We stayed 3 days in Enagron in early April'12 when most of Crete was still preparing for the season. We loved our stay in Enagron. It is clean (rooms, sheets, etc. were spotless), quiet (in the outskirts of a mountain), distinctive (agro-tourism, village life, farm, donkeys, ponies, turkeys, etc.), geniuine (true Cretan hospitality as demonstrated by Mary - more on... We spent a weekend at Enagron with our two kids, for the second time. I must say we all enjoyed a lot our stay. Enagron is located in the middle of a valley near the village of Axos at Rethymno, far far away from the city noises. One thing you really enjoy is the fact that you don't hear a... More

We recently spent a week in Enagron and had a wonderful time. The setting is remote, and as other reviewers have pointed out, it pays to leave more time to make the journey than you would expect. We stayed overnight in Iraklion to avoid having to make the drive at night, and this proved to be a good decision. The... More

We have been to Enagron every summer for the last 7 years for a communication seminar delivered by my husband. Our group is normally 15-24 persons. We are staying 4-5 days each time. The place is beautiful, both the mountainous scenery and the complex of small houses in total harmony with the physical surroundings. The appartments are spacious, each with... More

I would agree with previous comments that this is not the easiest place to get to - but the drive is worth it. Make sure you travel in day time though. On arrival it was hard to know what to expect, but the most stunning setting appears out of the hillside, a collection of rural buildings amongst carefully tended gardens.... More

The location is beautiful if you can find it. There are no workable directions and it is a lot further from Iraklio and Reythmno than you think. The roads are harrowing and you can't really drive much faster than 40 or 50 KPH so it takes more like 1.5 hours from either town. The view from the room was amazing.... More
