The Kandy House is a wonderfully refurbished old manor house. We had the ultra suite for one night which was really a delight. Only the air con was really noisy. Food was good though not on par with the prices charged. Overall, the place is too expensive however, they charged another 2 pc taxes apart from the usual 10 pc... More

Thank you very much for your review, and the compliments about the hotel and your stay at The Kandy House. We really appreciate the feedback. I am sorry to hear you think the hotel is too expensive.Firstly,it's worth clarifying your comments about taxes charged,to avoid any misunderstanding. At least in our peer group, many hotels calculate all statutory taxes, not just VAT at 12%,in their... We traveled around Sri Lanka for our honeymoon and Kandy House was the best accommodation out of 3 high end hotels we stayed in. From the excursions planned for us (Sigiriya, Polanuwaru, Temple of the Tooth, Botanical Garden, Tea Plantation, etc...), to our knowledgeable and safe English speaking driver, to our incredible butler Janaka and the professional and helpful management,... We staying in the Red Spot Ultra room and found this to be a gorgeous room with our own lovely terrace to enjoy breakfast on. We loved the atmosphere in this house and found the staff could not be more helpful. The Cocktails were lovely, the bar cozy, the food delicious (served on the main terrace overlooking the candlelit gardens)... More

My husband and I stayed in the Sunbeam room of the Kandy House during our honeymoon. If we hadn't stayed there I think that we wouldn't have enjoyed our two nights in Kandy (a town that has definitely seen better days) at all. The house is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated. There's a nice little bar area where they play great... More

I enjoyed everything about the KH. First impressions are sky high, an old colonial house, with lots of rooms and corners to curl up with. Our room was lovely, the Cornelian deluxe, shared a veranda with next door. We had a/c and a fan. The bathroom had a rather weird concrete bath which we didnt use and excellent shower. We... More

Recently enjoyed a three night stay at KH. Read most of the reviews before booking and reserved Red Admiral Suite, which was spacious and light. It also had access with one other bedroom room to a beautiful terrace which we had full benefit of as noone staying in the other room during our stay. Had afternoon tea, breakfast and two... More

We were given a very warm welcome and within a few minutes in our room the manager called to welcome us as well. The food was excellent: if you are there on cuyrry night you are in for a treat. It's afixed menu but something for everyone. It's well outside Kandy so you can't just walk outside and explore things... More

We booked an Ultra Room 7 months ago and specified to our agent that A/C was a must. Arrived at the KH and were shown to our Ultra Room - with no A/C!! Whatever the blurb may say - you need A/C!!! We were given an alternative Deluxe Room - with A/C And after a minor confrontation with the manager... More

Beautiful old house in a tranquil location. Comfortable accommodation but sadly let down by haphazard service and very average food. Fixed menu and most certainly not fine dining. After all the great reviews I was sadly disappointed. More

A warm welcome, a beautiful and very comfortable room and absolutely delicious food. The Kandy house is a charming blend of antigues and modern conveniences to complete your home away-from-home stay. Complete with intimate outside dining and a secluded infinity pool nestled in a serene tropical garden. The Kandy House is a perfectly luxurious oasis in the hills, within close... More
