This was an average property with a comfortable room - a nice air-conditioned room. Main gripe - a very impressive entrance but not air-conditioned! Worse - the main dining area was adjacent to this and likewise, not air-conditioned. But the food and choice at the dinner and breakfast ranged from good to very good. In conclusion - these comments are similar to other reviews already on Trip Advisor but still, good enough for one night.

a folly. Built half way up a very steep hill , the cost of construction must have doubled for every brick and plank delivered. The hotel has no arrangement with any local taxi , grab has yet to arrive and so the hotel is isolated on its mountain. You have to get your own taxi contact. The ride from Tenom is 8 to 10 MYR one way. Haggle and fix a price before you agree the ride. So hassle number one. Number two. The restaurant is advertised as open until 10pm. But as you will likely be the only guest, seriously you will , the chef may not be awake or willing to open the fridge and cook. There will not be anything fresh. Get a taxi to town or other local food courts ? see hassle number one. You are alone in this huge hotel and Stephen Kings the Shining comes alive in your mind. You can lock your room. The windows have warped frames and do not shut. The walls require painting. The bathroom has a bath , in which you stand for your shower, noting the deeply embedded grime and cracks. The electrical sockets seemed to be from many different countries. The bed was comfortable, the linen clean but old , the TV came on , but there was no show. The wifi worked slowly in the lobby , which is big and impressive. The gardens are unkempt and lets be honest, there are booby traps for the careless. Usually broken paths and pits in the ground. The views over the town of Tenom and the valley its sits in are glorious. Thats the only positive. The single receptionist was efficient, but acted as tired as the hotels decor. Overall , best avoided as there are good cheap rooms to be had in the town.

I never stayed there but I had my meal there. And we were there because of TMBT, one of the ultra trail run organized every year in Sabah. I would say the food is quite dull and lack variety although it is buffet style.

My family and i checked in at 6pm and checked out at 10pm. Big hotèl , totally empty except for 1 receptionist and 1 housekeeper. Very quiet, very eerie... after hearing a baby screaming away at dusk, we decided to call it quits. Will not stay here again.

the room number i dont remember, 506 may be. The door knob i guess been peeled off so many time. People can easily go inside. Tiles floor cause my daughter slip and bleed on the lips. still using the old tv, socket only 1 functioning and we have to use the same socket from the tv. shower condition was very poor, only few holes water can access and the Elevators door not open sometimes, i was stuck inside. Only 1 thing i like, the view.

My good friend lived in Tenom 30 years ago and wanted to relive his old memories. He recommended this hotel for it being the most famous hotel back then. We booked here and checked in late nearly about 9pm at night. To our suprise, no bellboy service and we had to carry our own luggage up to the room. We also requested for a baby crib which they dont provide. Its a old room that had a funny odour and the funiture, bedding, tv and AC were all in a very poorly maintained conditioned. Even the floor carpeting had stains and was really old. This was really upsetting Otherwise the location on top the hill is awesome, you get to watch a nice sunrise and a whole view of Tenom town amid the surround hills. The view is spectacular. You get pretty decent food at the restaurant. I would strongly recommend, the owners to upgrade this roster on the whole. Its actually a GEM, but sadly going to waste

We were well warned by the existing ratings for this hotel that the Perkasa has a far from excellent rating. So we expected the worst and got slightly better. First of all its location is spectacular high up on the hill above town with sweeping views of the valley below from the bedroom window(plus pleasant breezes). However whereas its easy to roll down the hill into town in a mere 10 minutes, its a bit more demanding on the return especially at night when the taxi alternative becomes non existent after 7pm. Yes the hotel has seen better days and lacks TLC but its adequate especially for one or two nights. The staff try their best but the impression I got was that guests were a bit of a novelty especially at this time of year. We asked for bottled or mineral water with our dinner and got boiled water instead (next best thing I guess) and beer was available but only in giant 650ml bottles. The room was clean but jaded and we had the obligatory broken toilet seat.

In December we stayed with our two kids in the family room for one night for 180RM. We got a free extra mattress to put on the floor. The room was full of insects including large bees and one bed was infested by ants. The toilet was leeking, the curtains were torn, the shower worked like a fountain, the water kettle did not work, one power point did not work. The bedding was not clean. Staff hardly spoke English.Wifi only in lobby but at night the windows are open and as there are no insect screens there are many mosquito's. Though the view was great and the airconditioning a relieve, we won't recommend this hotel for a family considering the price and what you get for it.`.

The hotel, hotel room & bath room are old, out of date and needed major renovation & upgrade even repairs & maintenance. The room we stayed was spacious and clean. Staffs were friendly. The hotel is on top of a hill with a good view but is out of the town center. Anyway, there are not many choices of hotel/motel accommodation in Tenom. At least the hotel room was reasonable clean during our stay.
