I loved my visit to Urraca so much that I returned a second time! This private resort is secluded in a mangrove island near the Zapatillas ~ the perfect place to relax, away from all the noise and pollution found on developed islands. The hostess, Francine, is a superb French chef, and prepares decadent meals every night made from the... More

Urraca Private Island is truly a gem in the Bocas del Toro region. Although the boat ride to the island seems long going out, once you arrive at the gorgeous little resort and Francine greets you at the dock (the owner and host during your stay), all of your worries and cares are gone! Everything from the vibrant pink huts... More

..for 5 days - we had the most amazing experience in this microcosom! This is eco-tourism as I'd never thought about! The setting in the small mangrove, the wildlife, the natural swimming pool, the fresh seafood prepared to perfection, the comfortable bungalows, the beautiful decor, friendly staff, and above all the incredible woman who runs this place ..all incredible and unforgettable!... This was, I knew, going to be an excellent vacation. However, my expectations were utterly surpassed. Francine is the sweetest person in the world and one of the best hosts I have ever seen in my life. You will certainly be in the lap of luxury when there and the food, oh the food... Wait and see and you will... More

This little resort with only 4 overwater bungalows (8 persons total) is a fantastic place to stay away from stress and pollution. Far away from large overpopulated resort and alone on your mangrove island, Francine will be your host for your stay. Always happy and willing to show you how indiens Ngobes live around. You'll go fishing with them and... More

We stayed for one day visiting the area of bocas del toro. Frances is a proud owner and treated us very nice. I loved the fact that we were able to quickly relax and get away. The shower was cold but expected as it was hot outside. The rooms were quaint and had great view of the starfish and other... More

Urraca is a piece of paradise on earth. Francine, the prowd owner, have built this magnificent isle in a total respect of nature. It is surreal to walk the elevated sidewalks a sea fish doing their business in the water below. It must be quite difficult to give people hotel-grade comfort in such a remote and wild area and Francine,... More

No! Until this owner provides hot water for washing dishes and fresh water for guest to drink do not go! Someone will ultimately die because they were a guest at this resort. My husband and I spent 3 days of our 8 day honeymoon here and we are currently taking antibiotics for gardia? It's a bacterial infection that stems from... More
