Stayed there for almost two weeks in Dec 2010. The hotel is rather old, but you can still see how it was a really superb business-class hotel in its early days. Surprisingly spacious deluxe room, wi-fi, free shuttle service to the beach and breakfast buffet. No complaints whatsoever.

Generally good value for the price. Good location in town, but very limited shuttles to Karon Beach. The breakfast was somewhat expensive, we found it best to buy fresh food from the nearby market. I would definitely go back.

This place was once grand, now it is perfect for budget travelers. Lots of rooms, laundry machines you can use, wifi in common space, two pools. We had great views from our room on the 9th floor.
