As we were very much looking forward to this lunch out, living locally, we were and are very disappointed. 9th June 2013. Sunday lunch, reserved table of of eight. We had ordered six fish and chips, five portions being children. When the food arrived we asked for tarter sauce and catchup (not unusual request to a fish and chips order,... More

My friends and I have just spent five days in the beautiful village of Paxford, staying at 1 Manor Lodge Cottage (highly recommended!). Every day we have been here we have eaten breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner at The Churchill Arms. We have found the food and service to be excellent, and we can't recommend it highly enough. We have tried... More

This pub is good– nice food and a lovely old pub atmosphere. Nice to be in a pub that is both a mix of tourists and locals. The sticky toffee pudding was a winner. Only improvement could be in the area of service which was a little slow and blasé at times

We visited the Churchill Arms on a gorgeous summer's evening, hoping to enjoy the best that the Cotswolds has to offer. Unfortunately, we left feeling hungry (terribly small portions), dejected (ignored for most of the time we were 'in the room') having been left to fend for ourselves in terms of being served a drink (we only had one round... A quick weekend break demanded a comforatble country pub environment & The Churchill Arms didn't disappoint !, ok the accommodation is a little basic but with a lovely view of the tiny church & countryside beyond. Well positioned for touring the surrounding villages & within striking distance for a good walk around the Blenheim Palace estate. Dinner was delicious, we... More

My girlfriend and I recently spent a couple of nights of nights here over the Easter weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our room was tidy, clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the charming little church in the field opposite. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely superb. I booked a... More

I was visiting the Cotswold with a friend, and we decided to have a nice country pub lunch. We found that The Churchill Arms was a very well recommended pub in the area, and we decided to try it. I have to say we were disappointed on the portion sizes, we both ordered a meat pie, which was quite nice... More

Friends down for the weekend so a trip to the edge of the Cotswolds were called for on the Sunday. Booked in advance just in case. It looks as though it can get busy at times. We all opted for the Roast Beef lunch which was excellent. Not your usual average roast this one. Must say the other choices on the... More

We called here for a Sunday lunch. Wow, it was lovely. Great choice of starters and main courses. Opted for a delightful starter and the Sunday roast. The Yorkshire Pudding was to die for!! Delightful wine list and a great choice of local beers off the pump. All of which was served with a smile.

This is a nice pub in a nice village. We were there only for lunch with our 2 kids. The service was not great at all..just a bit impersonal and cursory..the staff seemed more interested in one another than the customers..something I find highly irritating. The food was just OK. There was the distinct feeling that children were tolerated rather... More
