2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2013 NEW

Stayed here for 2 nights in May 2013 and previously for 1 night July 2012. Earlier stay was most definitely better. The rooms are ok, slightly dated, old style tv's with not great reception. But what we did find on our most recent stay was the lack of cleanliness of the room and quality of breakfast has gone downhill considerably.... More

I was at The Strtand Hotel during mid May for a family wedding. The hotel is beautifully located a few minutes walk from the beach. The reception area is quite small and I was surprised when we arrived that no space was cleared for the arrial of the wedding party. I know all guest should be able to use the... More

Had a great weekend at The Strand. The staff were welcoming and the food was tasty - with a nod to the 70`s- haven't had chicken vol au vonts for years, but they were lovely. The room was spotless and very comfortable with really comfy beds - slept really well. Will definitely be back.

Recommend the Strand Hotel as a great base to see the spectacular scenery of the Inishowen Peninsula. Hotel is right in the middle of Ballyliffin with short walk to beach. Rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and shower is great. Food and drink very reasonably priced. Only downfall is lack of WIFI outside main reception area. Overall great value hotel.

Contrary to previous reviews this hotel provides quality food with great portions at affordable prices.I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is very welcoming and the staff are very friendly and all have been with the hotel for a long time and seem to be very happy in their... More

Myself and my girlfriend went to the strand hotel up in ballyliffin just before Christmas 2012, although we both enjoyed our visit to donegal and inishowen, the hotel was pretty much a glorified hostel. The bed was small and uncomfortable, the decor was from the 1950s, the tv was similar to one I had in the early 90s in my... More

Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding in the hotel next door. Weather was miserable but the scenery and views in the area are spectacular and they alone make going to Donegal worthwhile. The Strand hotel is in a great location, half-mile up the road from Pollan beach which is a lovely walk. Parking is free and easy... More
