We stayed for only two nights in Ukhozi Lodge. Nice large chalet. Our guide was Lauren, who did an excellent job from 6.30am until 9.30pm when we finished dinner. All the staff were friendly and gave great service. Wi-fi? Couldn't get it. This is the only complaint - its a game reserve! More

We really enjoyed our stay at Kariega. We stayed in the Ukhozi Lodge and we're very pleased with our room. Great views, comfortable bed (always important) and nice surroundings. The staff and our ranger were all helpful and had a great sense of hospitality. Food was good. The only points they can improve on is the cleaniness of the pools... More

Excellent end to our tour of RSA. Challet (No2)was fantastic 3 bedrooms/bathrooms large lounge and kitchen/dining area with veranda and (very)private pool overlooking the valley – and all to ourselves. Very clean and a nice log fire for those chilly evenings. Safari was fantastic, made even better by our guide Daniel – Senior Ranger – who knew exactly when and... More

Wasn't sure what to expect as we have been to all the major places in Southern Africa. We were pleasantly surprised and saw game such as elephants, lions and rhino up real close. The rest of the (many) animals looked in really good condition and the terrain was much better than I had expected. The boat trip down the river... More

From the moment we arrived we had great friendly service! Each cabin gets there own personal Game Guard (ours was Doc) with 4x4 game viewing vehicle! The sight seeing was excellent (my best close up photo experience, with two bull elephant play fighting)! Snacks and drinks and blankets were fantastic! We saw everything! The food was excellent, and the Xhosa... More

We stayed at River Lodge for 5 nights and cannot fault this place. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed amazing game drives. The rangers were very accommodating - we did a walking safari, night safari, canoeing, and river cruise in addition to the regular drives. The lodge is right on the river and a very relaxing place... We have been fortunate to have travelled the world extensively and I had a bit of reluctance in going to South Africa through reading about problems and violence through the media until now. We have just come back from 2 absolutely memorable weeks there which was then perfectly rounded off by staying at the Kariega Game Reserve. We stayed in... More

Stayed here for a 3 days/2 nights safari and have to say I was quite pleased with this stay. Had a Bungalow at the Ukhozi Lodge which was really spacious and clean, although quite dated - some renovation work will do the job. The Lodge itself is quite basic, but good for sipping excellent wines in front of the fireplace... More

We had an amazing time at Kariega Game Reserve! My husband and I have been all over the world but were really taken with South Africa and our experience here! It is one of our most memorable travel experiences yet! Everyone was so accomodating and we felt welcome and relaxed immediately. The room/cottage we booked was very nice. I can't... More

Kariega was one of the highlights in a busy fortnight in South Africa. A first experience of 'safari' for my husband and young daughter which didn't disappoint. We stayed in Chalet 10 by Main Lodge: it was clean and spacious, looking out over the bush and not overlooked. Our ranger, Griffiths, was a great host and driver, knowing where to... More
