I took my four sons (8,6,4,2) camping for the evening here. Great spot for car camping with a family. There is a free shuttle service to several trailheads. The views from Moraine Park are stunning. There is one loop that is first-come-first-served. If you arrive early in the day there are sites available.

I went with my husband and two kids. Even though we could not have a camp fire (due to all of the forrest fires in Colorado at the time) it was a super fun camping trip. We took a drive around the park and saw some elk. We then took a little hike to a waterfall and had a little... More

We stayed in our RV for 3 nights (loopA #35). Our spot wasn't the prettiest in the campground, but thanks to 2 small hills on either side of us we had no one else next to us. Not too far away from the bathrooms either (flush toilets & sinks). Our kids loved waking up and watching the mule deer walk... More

We car/tent camped here, and enjoyed it a lot. We went in early May, before they were accepting reservations and it was delightful. Part of the reason it was nice is that it was sunny during the days, and snowing each night, so it was fairly empty in the campground. We arrived and there were Elk all over the campsites.... More

Agree with the recommendations for a Loop C site, which is where we stayed. The campsites are quite close together--if you want to not see your neighbor I'd go for one of the "walk-in" sites, which are only maybe 50 yards of walking but often much more secluded by boulders or small hills. Bathrooms have regular flush toilets (at least... More

Granted, I pitched my tent in Loop A, which is all that was available. At these sites they mix RVs and tents, so I spent the afternoons listening to the generator next door, and woke up every morning to the lovely view of a bus. Loop C and D seemed much quieter and more peaceful with better views but still,... More

Thanks to a prior review that I read on here, I made an advanced reservation for Morraine Park, C Loop (our site was C236 the first night and C239 for the second night). C236 was absolutely gorgeous! There are no hook ups but up in the rockies, we didn't need our AC or anything else that would've required our RV's... More

This is a very beautiful campground that is well maintained. One piece of advice...DO NOT arrive here for the first time at Night. This is what we did. It was difficult to find our campsite. We actually had to park our car in our assigned spot and walk a trail to get to our tent pad-site.***we were in site 128**... More

We just got back from spending 6 nights at Moraine Park. What a great place. Even with the pine beetle, the mountains are beautiful. They are spraying the trees in the campground, so there are still shady spots to camp. This is our 3rd time camping here and we will be back. The ranger programs seem to be better this... More

9 & 11 yr old with dad and we had a great time. 'D' area is generator-free so I would recommend the outer loop there as well. The views here were good, too, but did seem like C had great views. We had a walk-in site (but only about 25 yards) and that helped get us out of the busy... More
