We chose this at it was reasonably near Ludlow or so we thought. As we were there for the Food and Beer festival taxis were necessary and at a cost of between 25 and 35 pounds each way it was expensive. At the end we discovered the bus and at £10 for 4 and being dropped off at the door... More

We stayed here for two nights whilst looking for a house in the area, it was a perfect refuge from a tortuous task. Baron's isn't positioned on a main road so doesn't suffer from any traffic noise. The only sound you hear is from the sheep in the fields at the back of the Inn. Baron's is family owned and... More

Firstly, the location of The Baron at Bucknell is beautiful. I stayed with my mother as a birthday treat for her and we were not disappointed. The whole place was spotless. The room was luxurious and the ensuite spacious and, again, very clean. The view from our room was of rolling hills, sheep and rabbits playing. Beautiful. In the evening... More

We stayed just for one night as a stopover and it is hard to find fault. Lovely room, very well appointed, not a huge choice at dinner, but it was delicious, as was the breakfast. Nice cosy bar area and the setting is beautiful.

Myself and four girlfriends (aka The Wrekin Rockettes) booked in for a lunch at the Baron of beef following a walk from Knighton - where we had gotten lost several times. All was good when we arrived at the Baron - we received a wonderful warm welcome and they were so accommodating, even though we arrived an hour and a... More

We called in for a meal and a few drinks on a very cold evening. The food was beautifully cooked and plentiful and the real ale just finished things off. The fires kept us warm and cosy throughout. We will be back during the summer time for one of the walks which start and finish at The Baron.

My husband and I booked Sunday lunch here whilst away for the weekend so we could have a look at the caravan site. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and our table had been reserved. We had a very generous amount of beef with our home cooked Sunday lunch and the service was very good. Would highly recommend.

Just returned from our second visit to this super hostelry. IT IS BRILLIANT.. No long-winded essay, that's all we need to say, and long may it continue. ! ! We will return later in the year.... You can't have too much of a good thing. Thanks to Debra, Phil, Lauren, Jamie Lee and Theo..... AND David (drinking friend).. Cheers.

We stayed here on the campsite for 5 nights during the snow and cold that we've had for the past few days - yes, we must be crazy!. We did have some trouble getting the car and caravan off the site due to the snow, however, the owners, owners children and staff all came out and helped to get us... More

We stayed for two nights at the Baron and absolutely loved it. It is a family run inn and the hospitality shown by them was great. The place is very warm and welcoming. The rooms are amazing, they are fully carpeted and the bed is super comfy. The bathroom is new and the shower was one of the best we've... More
