My wife and I found this B&B looking on laterooms.com, we read some reviews, all of which were good. We were not disappointed. We had a large room with all the usual facilities. Sally and her family couldn't have been more accommodating, we even played fetch with the dog 'Meg'. Breakfast was delicious! We would recommend to anyone looking to... More

We stayed here for a night on 22 Dec 12. We chose it as it had great reviews and looked lovely. It was wonderful! Peaceful, tranquil and simply beautiful views. The hostess, and her 4 year old assistant, were wonderful. Very attentive, ensuring our every whim was taken care of even before we had even realised we had one. The... More

A delightful B & B, tucked away in the beautiful rolling hills outside of Beattock, Marchbankwood House is easily accessible from the main road yet still peaceful and secluded. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. Even the dog, Megan, greeted us warmly and entertained us with a game of "fetch". The rooms are large and well-appointed, overlooking the marvelous countryside.... More

The ideal stopping off place for us on our way to the borders. Set in idyllic, scenic landscape with bedrooms that have amazing views onto the Southern Uplands! We were warmly welcomed and the sparkling clean and modern rooms were super comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection and there was a varied selection for all tastes.We'll... More

Stayed 4 nights to tour Dumfries & Galloway. Efficient booking by email, easy to find, friendly welcome, superb room and ambience, breakfasts to die for - what more can one ask for when on holiday? Sally and her family were model hosts.

A mere minute or four off the busy motorway (we were returning south) and yet with every convenience in its own little world. Ideal for that restful night en route. Bedroom as spacious as I've seen, bathroom very well appointed, everywhere clean and friendly .. even the wi-fi extended a welcome too. The breakfast was spot on, with plenty of... More

Stayed here with friends when heading South. Large comfortable rooms with all the necessary extras, with views out over the countryside, and a very short distance from the M74 (which we couldn't hear). Top quality comfortable beds, and a great breakfast - and good value too. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed here on the way to the Isle of Arran, and quite simply this is the best ever accommodation we have experienced enroute to Arran, and that is over a period of 20 + years. The owners were excellent hosts and made us both feel very welcome in their home, which is a wonderful character house set in the most... More

Stayed here on the way up to and back from the highlands as it broke up our journey quite perfectly. The house is beautiful and is in a perfect country setting and our host, Sally, was charming and friendly. She came out to meet us as we drove up and welcomed us in a very natural way. A second visit to Marchbankwood House was as pleasantly welcoming as the first, we stayed in a different room this time, also a large bright room, with double aspect windows over landscaped gardens. Breakfast, the ' Munro ' option, is to be much recommended. Upon arival we were once again made very welcome by Sally, with Meg the dog in... More
