I know I am writing this a 'long long' time after we actually made the visit - I am talking about a visit well over three years ago. I didn't know about Trip Advisor then! Well, if a place leaves an impression after all that time, it is definitely worth a review. I love plantation bungalows - makes me wish... More

A very quiet location off the beaten path, with monkeys running all around and the back gate leading right on to the tea plantation, or tea garden as they call it. Each bungalow has its own charm and garden; ours had 2 rooms and there was one other person in the other room for one night but otherwise we had... More

The heritage bungalow is luxurious. My favourite spot was the huge verandah where we sank into large comfortable chairs and drank endless cups of steaming Assam tea. The house was decorated with lots of interesting china & curios; the library is specially good for browsing around. The bedrooms are huge and the bathrooms are the size of a Bombay's studio... More

This is an exclusive property which was not as pricey as some of the others in this category are. We travelled to this place on impulse when our trip through Arunachal Pradesh had to be abandoned because of excessive rains. The place is inside a tea estate though not part of it. The estate however, can be accessed easily. The... More

When the daily grind gets too much, head out to Wild Mahseer ... it’s a resort in the middle of nowhere in Tezpore, Assam. This resort is a must if your idea of vacation sounds like any of these: (a) To walk with your girl down an aisle flanked by high timber trees with the moonlight seeping through the canopy.... More

We spent two days - alas too short a stay - at Wild Mahseer. Our stay was wonderful primarily because of the wonderful staff and the beautiful property! Bikram, the resident manager and Deepak took care of us as if we were their personal guests! The property is maintained beautifully and even though we visited in the off season, our... More
