I live on San Juan Island but if I were a tourist, I would stay here. It is a beautiful property and Kim and Karl are the best hosts. The views from the water's edge and the surrounding tall tree forest is quiet, peaceful and incredibly scenic.

My wife and I just got back from our stay at Lonesome Cove Resort. We stayed in Cabin 4, and were blessed with some of the best weather we could have imagined. Not that we would have minded a driving rainstorm (we're from San Diego, so we get sun all the time!), as the cabins have everything you need to... More

If you are looking for a simple, rustic place to get away from it all, this is the place to go. The cabins are quaint, comfortable and functional and have great views of Spieden Channel. Having a kitchen was a nice bonus so that we could cook our own meals when we wanted to. The innkeepers are very friendly an... More

We loved our long weekend at Lonesome Cove Resort. It was the perfect place to unplug, enjoy nature, and just "be". The managers are fantastic, helpful, and make the place even better. We're definitely planning a trip back!

We've been coming here for 10+ yrs. why do we keep coming back? It's by far the best place to unwind and renew your inner spirit. The breathtaking view is awesome and just steps from your deck. The new host Kim and Carl are a fantastic addition to the Cove. The've added their own special touches. The best part is... More

We have just returned from our annual trip to Lonesome Cove Resort, and—as usual—it was wonderful (even in the rain!). We’ve been coming up here for a week in May for nearly 20 years; and are pleased to say that Kim and Karl Bruder are preserving the things we’ve always loved about the place while adding their own personal touch.... We have been going to Lonesome Cove resort for 20+ years now and this year was no exception to our continuing love of this peaceful, lovely piece of Washington State. Kim and Karl Bruder are the hosts and they are wonderful people. They have a great new website now too with lots of great photos. They have added new outdoor... More

Absolutely beautiful resort made even better by the management. so friendly and knowledgeable-felt as though i was a member of the family. even their dog Otis is a character. toughest part of the trip is going back to reality (work). this property is not to be missed. can't understand how anyone could find anything negative about this resort-perfection. accommodations allow... We stayed with some friends at Lonesome Cove this fall. The cabins are quaint & right on the water with an absolutely gorgeous view. It was nice and quiet and would have also made for a great romantic getaway. There were six of us and we had 2 cabins, one 1BR and one 2BR. On the 2BR deck there was... More

We chose Lonesome Cove because we had a boat that we wanted to moor and be able to use every day for fishing and whale watching. From that perspective the resort couldn't have been better. It is a great location on the island for quick access to fish and whales. The boat slip was literally feet from our room. Our... More
