We found Casas do Coro strictly by its proximity to the Coa Valley and truly by happenstance. I had no expectations but I can't quite absorb the charm, the beauty and the uniqueness of this incredible "hotel"?? Casas do Coro consists of many separate houses nestled against the base of the castle walls. Open your casa door and....ahhhhh....the castle, the... More

Just returned from 10 nights at this wonderful, friendly hotel. When we left we felt like old friends of owner Paulo and his beautiful wife Carmen. We arrived tired and stressed (and horribly pale) from our busy lives in London and the peace and tranquility of Casas do Coro was the perfect antidote. Ok, firstly the surrounding area is beautiful... More

We stayed in this amazing village for 3 nights and enjoyed lazy days by the pool and wandering around the village. It was very hot but air con coped well and our ´cottage´was a pleasure to return to. Breakfasts were amazing and we loved the leisurely finish time. Free home made lemonade served by pool each night was lovely. Dinner... More

Very clean, modern and aesthetically pleasing hotel, quiet and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room had all needed to ensure comfortable nights sleep and the small kitchenette was useful to heat up snacks etc. Bathroom had toiletries and adequate towels etc, and again were very clean. And the food hummmm!!!... And amazing location, Marialva, what a nice quiet... More

Arriving to Meda... Raining cats and dogs and freezing cold! We were 5 friends and collegues searching for a nice and quiet place, faraway from our office. We arrived to a quiet stone village and were received with a delicious dinner. Very typical Portuguese food and deserts, simply delicious. The rooms were connected trought a living room, equiped with nice... More

We stayed at Casa do Coro with our new baby, something we were not sure would be a good idea. Our fears were misplaced: staff were extremely attentive, and the owners and family loved children and were extremely helpful and very nice. Marialva is an old village with a castle in northern Portugal. The village and the hotel are composed... More

I’ve been last weekend at Casas do Coro. It’s a very nice place to visit, with a friendly staff, a pleasant room, very clean, and well decorated, a breakfast with natural fruits and juices, and cookies home made. The swimming pool has lot of sun and is very quiet. It’s important to visit the castle closely.

We traveled by car from Porto to Marialva. It seemed that we would never find it, but once we did, we didnt want to leave. I am very familiar with Portuguese cuisine, yet, it was here that I had the BEST Portuguese meal of my life. The entire meal was superb. The staff was superb. The houses were superb.Unforgetable.

Amazing place to stay a couple of days and relax. The architecture of the revamped historic houses is unique and classy. The little town of Marialva seems to be frozen in time. The staff still seems not very much informed about the Wineries and Wine Routes in nearby Douro Valley. A pitty because we believe the big tourism boom of... More

It's a whole medieval village turned into a "hotel". The houses are fantastic, the atmosphere is great. Every thing is perfect. The decoration of the rooms, the restaurant, the food, the wine, the staff. We stayed there in Spring, but I bet it must be great in Summer, near the pool. There isn't much to do around, but if you... More
