My wife and I spent three days here and were pleasantly surprised, as we had been told that most Havana hotels were noisy and not up to standard. The room had all that we could wish for; comfortable beds and extras that we did not expect in Cuba. The very high ceiling plus a twelve foot door that dwarfed my... More

...but its not worth staying in. Considering the price, things should work. Like alleged internet, shower fittings etc. Really nice building but since its open to the public, it can be seen by dropping by.Ditto for the cigar shop. Breakfast and restaurant decent - ok wine selection available. Overcharged for minibar which was rarely abused. In its defence, the location... More

This was a lovely place to stay, location is excellent, rooms large and the staff friendly. We had room two which is massive. It's not luxurious but the bathroom is fab and there are a number of bathrooms. English news channels on TV and free air con which is essential. The breakfast is a bit ropey, mostly fruit but try... After a sub-par stay at the Hotel Raquel last year, I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this nine-room property other than a good location. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a huge, lovely room overlooking Mercaderes. The beds were comfortable and everything worked well. The staff were absolutely great. From the servers who did our made-to-order breakfast each... ...where ever you have been before. Despite its flaws I found it a wonderful and charming hotel conveniently located in downtown Havana. Our room was huge with so heigh a ceiling I nearly suffered from vertigo when I streched out on the bed slightly tipsy and the room started to turn. The staff was friendly, polite, helpful and smiling all... More

We payed a fortune to stay here! (Prices like a very good hotel in Paris) Unfortunately we spent that money to be in a 'suite' for 3 nights. Well it was very spacious, but that was about it. Everything was falling apart or didn't work (windows, shower, chair etc). Every night from 2 am onwards until 6 am the water... More

Perfect location. Typical Cuba. It's a state owned hotel so some of the staff try to line their own pockets. The maids and breakfast staff were fantastic. The porter and front of house were very polite. Breakfast was like any hotel. All fresh fruit. It's an historical building so no modern comforts. The best location in the city. Bar restaurant... I went to Havana this last march with my girlfriend and stayed 4 nights at this well located hotel. It is in the heart of Havana Vieja, the nighborhood you will want to stay. But for the price asked, we surely expected more. Rooms are nice and inspire some other times, but cleanliness is worrying. At the second day, we... More

This is a really interesting place for a stay. The restoration of a colonial villa has been done in such a way as to preserve what I guess would be the original layout, so floor-to-ceiling wooden slatted blinds instead of windows, rooms opening onto a central terrace that overlooks the courtyard. It's almost like a movie set. Unfortunately the blinds... More
