The Melia Habana is located toward the west side of Havana. It is quite a large hotel with a very nice swimming pool. There is no sand beach near, the shoreline here is solid rock. The hotel is quite large, but is well organized. The staff is quite friendly. This hotel is not a choice if you want to be... More

I stayed in the Melia for three nights on a business trip. The hotel is huge, so are the rooms. There is no such thing as non-smoking room. Why? it's Cuba, smoking a cigar is quite normal. My concern of the possible smell was addressed with a very nice hand written note by the management left in my room, that... More

This hotel is a bit away from town but it is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are very large with a beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony. The breakfast buffet is a little different from what we expect in the U.S. but the food is good and the breads are delicious. The Italian restaurant was... More

Accommodation and service received was very pleasant and comfortable. The Italian restaurant on the premises had excellent dishes which we really enjoyed. The pool was impressive and very big, so you can enjoy the facility. More

The Melia Havana was a nice surprise. We had a lovely large room on a higher floor that is equal to any fine hotel anywhere. The breakfast was excellent with musicians playing in the dining room every morning. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The pool is huge and very pretty with lots of lounge chairs. Save a little time... More

I booked this hotel for a week with an agent which had included the flight in a package but after the first 2 nights went and paid for another hotel Although we received a room I asked for upper floor facing the water it smelled of old smoke which I overcame by leaving the door open. We did face the... More

Very nicely situated hotel, on the beach front, but slightly far from Havana central. It is about a ten to fifteen minute drive from old Havana, but the hotel provides a regular free shuttle bus into town. The only problem with the location is that you need to go into town to get decent restaurants. The hotel decor and rooms... More

Dear Mr. Geohl Our location in the city is actually a disadvantage to us, but as an option we have a shuttle bus service to the old town for our guests, although we know it is very hard to meet all likes we make a big effort to do it. We thank you for all your comments on our restaurants... More

The Melia Habana was not our first choice but as the Pope was in town our choices were limited. In the end it turned out for the best. Located in Miramar, a short drive into central Havana, with a free hotel shuttle several times a day both ways, we were able to sleep to the soothing sounds of waves breaking... More

We stayed for 3 nights and had an enjoyable time, it is 15 mins from Havana but there is a free shuttle bus and I would advise to get a Cuban car ride with a guide it is unforgettable, convertible car was great! Breakfast was not good and cold however the Japanese restaurant is good but is European prices. More

I stayed here for a couple of days in Feb. 2012. The staff was pretty friendly, the rooms were well maintained, nicely appointed and clean. The hotel bar, lobby and public areas are very nice and a great place to spend time. I had lunch at the cafeteria downstairs one day, it was OK, nothing special, limited menu. Had dinner... More
