True; Camagüey is a labyrinth and the hotel isn't the easiest to find, but once you arrive, the hotel looks nice and the lobby is nicely restaurated. The front desk staff looks if they do not really care, and probably don't, which probably explains why they are letting through intimidating touts and jineteras (prostitutes) into the bar. They will walk... More

nice hotel but tiny room. It did have a window that we could open (no view) but it did not have any hot water. Maids left trolleys and rubish out in the corridors. restaurant small but OK. Very good water ballet in hotel pool. We stayed here as part of a Travelsphere tour - thankfully one night only. More

We chose this hotel because of it's location. Do not expect too much ! this hotel is not only state owned like all others but, state run at the same time. Neither expect a warm welcome nor an excellent hospitality. In such a governemental sytem there is no unemployment problem, everybody has a job. You work with all your hart... More

It is not worth to accommodate if you have other alternatives. If you have room in front of building ( road side) no problem. But others are terrible. Windows were small and above your head level. Impossible to see outside. In bath room hair drier was not working and they did not have spare one. So bring yours together in... More

Postage stamp sized room with a low cot. An ac stuck in a tiny window overlooking a roof. and a bathroom an average person has to turn sideways to enter. Forget it! Not even for one night is this hotel worth staying at. More

Gran Hotel was the most atmospheric hotel we stayed during our 2 weeks in Cuba. It really has a unique feel. The rooms are high ceiling with nice floors and furniture, clean and nice bathrooms and it's right in the centre with in walking distance of most of the things to see in Camaguey. The only downside is that we... More

During our 11 days long Cuban trip, this hotel was by far the best that matched my expectations: all over the place, you can feel the past, you can feel the Cuban spirit. The room we stayed in was spacious, very confortable, very clean, with a modern TV and all other amenities you might need in a hotel room and... More

Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed this hotel. Checkin was quick, rooms are very spacious, water pressure was great and the bed was excellent. Breakfast on the 5th floor was excellent. The pool is a bit small but acceptable, prices in all area f&b outlets in the hotel are excellent. they don't take advantage like other hotels do. Would definitely... More

My parents (60) and I (23) did a tailor-made tour of Cuba in July/August 2010. We stayed in Camaguey for 1 night, using it primarily as a half-way point between Trinidad and Santiago de Cuba. The Gran Hotel Camaguey was, in my opinion, a good 4* hotel, but the service really let it down, which is why I’ve given it... More

Hotel is centrally located within a decent part of the city, however it is not so easy to find. The Lobby is boringly styled, but thats not the problem The problem lay with the staff. The people working there generally did not want to help you with much, and smiling was definitly something that happened rarely for the hotel staff.... More
