Was booked to stay here by a tour for two nights and after reading the reviews was very concerned. But I found it to be a decent place. The front desk staff were friendly. At dinner we asked for some extra things and the staff was more than accommodating. The room was basic but clean. Don't remember if there was... More

Ignoring previous reviews and out of desperation we decided to stay three nights at this hotel. Big mistake. Got hustled outside and thought we would be safe inside but the hustler followed us in and shook hands with the receptionist !! What details are they sharing with outsiders!!? Breakfast staff are seriously rude. The room was clean but didn't feel... More

We stopped for a night either side of a trip to Baracoa and it was nice split this way. The hotel has a good breakfast with lots to choose from the buffet and fresh omelettes. There are also some restaurants nearby- Bucaneros was the best. Its in an nice and safe location away from the centre but only a 30... More

I agree with two previous reviews completely. This hotel is badly run and is not safe. There is definitely an unhealthy relationship between some of the hotel staff and the numerous hustlers prowling the area. There is also a breakfast waiter/chef (thin one with shaved head) who is extremely unpleasant toward hotel guests. On my last morning there I noticed... More

we stayed in Las Americas in january as we checked in really late so we didnt have much desire to drive around to seek a better deal, but there is another hotel across the street which is excellent nad 5star, we were travelling on the budget so we stayed at "very average - simple no frills" hotel for couple nights.... I stayed in this hotel from 18. of November to 20. of November. The night before leaving, I found out that 160Euros were stolen from the safe. The code to the safe was 4 numbers. The management of the hotel did not take the theft seriously, they said that it was impossible to open the safe from outside the room.... More

Before we begin this negative review we have to state that on the few occasions we encountered them the reception staff at this hotel were actually quite helpful and friendly. Our room was also clean but that's what the staff are paid for and we as customers are entitled to. Sadly the other aspects mentioned below far outweigh any positive... More

I quite enjoyed my stay at Hotel Las Americas. Located on the edge of the Vista Alegre neighborhood, this is definitely one of the cities best areas to stay in. Near such places as the Melia hotel complex, La Maison with its boutique and nightly fashion show, and a few other bars and restaurants, you are well located to explore... More

Plus+ About 15 minutes walk from bus station Pool Bar with entertainment Opposite Hotel Santiago de Cuba (Night club, cabaret, bars & restaurants) Near a plaza where there is live free concerts Minus- Only about 20 minutes walk to centre but very exhausting on a hot day. Taxi only cost about three pesos though. In general - they need a... More
