Spent some time living temporarily at El Rancho. The staff really make you feel welcome and safe. The surrounding areas and houses are actually quite largest and posh, also some other hotels around. Most rooms are really large by anyone's standard and the television selection isn't bad either many US channels at night and in the morning. The pool is... More

For a hotel that bills itself as great, it was a disappointment. First, when I got into the room there was not any power and it lasted for 15 minutes. Afterwards, It kept on going off. Second, there was not any toilet paper, not even a roll; I had to call and ask for it. Third, the magnet on the... More

This was my first trip to haiti with my boyfriend who is Haitian. The positive of the hotel was the breakfast and the service for food. The room wass undesireable the toliet always clogged and there was a shortage of towels. We were bothered every morning by a staff member for either a ironing boead air conditioning etc. The light... My wife and I stayed at the El Rancho several times from 2001 to 2003. We found the hotel to be a very nice place to stay. The rooms were clean and very well furnished. The food was great, the staff very nice and professional. We only had one problem, on our third stay, a room a/c went out and... More

In the past I have stayed at this hotle on every visit to Haiti, this time the service was not good at all. The a/c was not working proper and there were a large rat in my room crawling on up the curtains. They called for housekeeping and still couldn't get the rat out of my room. They said he... More

The people who owns and runs this hotel should not be allowed to work in service. They have no idea how to deal with people, they treat their employees badly and treat their clients like they were doing us a favor to allow us to stay at their overpriced hotel. The hotel itself have some very nice rooms but some... More

This was my second time stayed at El Rancho, I must tell you guys it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in haiti. We stayed at the El Rancho Hotel in Petionville, Haiti, which is about seven miles outside of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Our stay was adequate at best. The room is very over-priced to the tune of $US 117.00 per night plus 10% tax, with NO continental breakfast included, not even a lousy cup of coffee. Vacationing in Haiti was like being... More

The Hotel El Rancho was my oasis while visiting/working in Port-au-Prince. I found the room to be very spacious and clean. The air conditioner always worked and there was never an instance of power or water outage. The food was very good as were the fine beverages. The staff was extremely friendly and as a matter of fact, I made... More
