It started with indifferent front desk staff. We were then shown to a room with the A/C controls hanging off the walls, holes in the walls etc. The hotel was empty and they did switch us when requested, but why put us in that room to being with? The beds were hard. The bar depressing. Breakfast didn't start until 7am... More

Unfortunately, it was only after I had a terrible stay here that I found out how many others disliked Kaliko. I went for the beach and it was nothing but large stones and rocks. I was looking forward to the food, but they did not have enough people to operate the buffet and they were out of many basic items.... More

I came here to dive with Pegasus diving next door and stayed for two nights. I got a prompt response to my e-mails requesting a room reservation and when I needed to make a chnage to the dates, this weas also promptly respoded to. This is a rarity in Haiti. However, the receptionist who made my booking asked me to... More

This horrible place is over an hour away from the airport and transporation is limited and expensive. The front desk staff was awful , everything you asked they answered I don't understand. They do not advertise that they turn off the electricity Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30pm. They also control when to turn off your TV if... More

The November holidays are busy times for the Haiti beach hotels and we found availability at the Kaliko at a reasonable price, especially compared with their competitors. The amenities were plentiful and coped well with the number of guests. The room was clean, water hot and the AC worked very well. The buffet lunch and dinner was a bit of... More

I (a white Brooklynite who's been traveling to Haiti to visit friends since the 90s) stayed here with my husband, my five year old stepson, and my husband's stepbrother (all born and raised in Port au Prince). Knowing what you get in Haiti, this place is pretty good. Front desk service is very slow but pleasant, the guys at the... More

We stayed several times at the Kaliko and enjoyed very much the friendly, calm atmosphere of the club. Although there is no sandy beach, it's all little stones, we enjoyed the beach. We had to get used to the souvenir dealers and boat trip sellers who are always around but are very friendly. The cuisine is a whole catastrophe and... More

I stayed at this hotel as part of a Christian missionary group. There were a few others there, as well. This hotel is about an hour or an hour and a half away from Port-au-Prince, depending on how you drive. (Driving in Haiti is an extended game of chicken.) This hotel is very nice - GREAT for Haiti. It’s right... More

Being in Haiti, it will do nothing to be raving about. The front desk staff is the worst I have seen from any where in the world I have visited or lived. If the management could train the front desk staff like the dining area staff when it comes to customer satisfaction, that would be a plus. The bar staff... More

The place is beautiful but I think some people have exaggerated their experience. There is no wireless internet and tv in some of the rooms. From a statistical point of view I don’t think event A, will be recurring in event B, but it was some unpleasant experience. Speaking of professionalism, it could have been worst, but for the sound... More
