Have been to the Visa lodge for their lunch buffet and breakfasts every time we fly into Port-au-Prince. We always look forward to the lunch buffet, with the excellent squash and variety of foods, as well as desserts. Have never had problems drinking the fruit drinks and ice with their certified safe drinking water as well. We eat outside by... More

I stayed at the Visa Lodge for a professional visit to Haiti. The place is a quiet refuge close to the airport. Nice little chalet-type rooms spread around a garden. Important to know that the hotel is relatively far away from the restaurants/bars/embassies/etc in Pétionville. It is really at 5-10 mins from the airport. Clean. Comfortable. I stayed in three... There for medical mission. We worked in hot, dusty, crowded tent cities with no running water or electricity. The Visa Lodge was our one scheduled "break" for lunch one day. We ate in the air conditioned dining room upstairs. A buffet was set out by the pool which was a pretty site. Only pool I saw in Haiti. I chose... More

I have a ministry in Haiti and am there many times throughout the year. I have stayed at Visa Lodge a few times and was only moderately impressed previously. But this time I must say that they have made some significant improvements and I really enjoyed my stay there. Our room (ministry associate and myself) was large, clean, with a... More

I stayed at Visa Lodge end of August 2011 just for 2 days. I went there on Mission with the UN Environment office. We arrived early in the morning of the first day and our room was not ready. So we had to return at lunch. I found the rooms to be very basic. The bathroom was not extremely clean... More

Room clean. Food good. (LOVE the oatmeal!) Service good. No, it is not a luxury accomodation, but I did not expect it to be. We were there for a week and I have no complaints. The small lizards in the room did not bother me. :) More

We stayed at the Visa Lodge beginning on August 24, 2011 during a visit with a non-profit organization. I read reviews online that highlighted bug problems, dirty sheets, dirty room, and broken room doors. We experienced none of these problems, however, we took our own sheets and bed liner just in case. Our room was much better than expected with... More

Supply and demand is the cornerstone of Market ethics. So why shouldn't Visa Lodge get in on the 200%+ profiteering that is endemic with the post Earthquake economy. Well, the more it costs for one to meet basic travel, housing and food needs, the lees "discretionary" cash one has to spread to the rest of the business economy in Haiti.... More

The room was very poorly maintained. The carpet, bedding, furniture was shabby. The room was not particularly clean. There was a gap around the entry door sides and bottom and bugs were able to enter the room unhindered. The door frame was seriously damaged by someone breaking into the room for what appeared to be more than one time. As... More

I have been traveling to Haiti several times a year for the past 13-14 years (over 75 trips in all) and have stayed at many hotels in Haiti. The past several years we have focused on Visa Lodge and made it our base of operation. Visa Lodge is good hotel and dollar for dollar a good value. I find the... More
