I just completed my fourth stay at this hotel. Yes, it is 'old' like its Old San Juan neighborhood. Bu, the rooms have modern conveniences and are nicely furnished.

everything is right in the center of town. great location and walking distance to cafes, bars, and attractions... the hotel accomidations were good, clean and affordable. the service was excellent and friendly. they gave us maps and directions to where we wanted to go a. we only stayed overnight before we left to our cruise, but would go back again...
