We stayed in this hotel 3 nights at the beginning of January. We decided to book a room there as the restaurant is really well rated and it's difficult (quite impossible) to have a meal in this restaurant without a reservation if you are not staying there. Honestly we were a little bit worried as the travellers seemed not very... More

this is just a 2 star hotel - normally we stay in 4-5* and we were really amazed! They just miss 2 more stars because they are small and there is no pool, but caravelle semi-island has nice beaches 2 minutes (l etang) to walk. the restaurant is worth a Michelin star - so much live for the details, haute... A family run 3 star hotel located on a beautiful quiet peninsula. Had a self catering studio (Rooms 6-12 have best views). Rooms comfortable if a little tired, but cleaned to a good standard every day. Nice private shady spacious balcony. (Lower studios have more sun-bathing space if you prefer that.) Fine sea views. Responsive service from manager Bastien, who... More

I could write a very long manifesto on this hotel and their lack of hospitable and functional customer service. But, I will *try* to keep this brief-- I'm not sure if I can. We had booked directly with the staff for our June stay in February and had worked out all our details for arrival. They had been coridal and... More

We loved this small hotel and its restaurant. The hotel itself is full of character and furnished lovingly with antique furniture and ornaments. The restaurant is really excellent and the food served is of an exceptional standard. You can dine either on the covered verrandah looking out to sea or in the restaurant - either place is very romantic. Pre-dinner... More

We have been here for one week in February. The Hotel from their website seemed lovely; it’s a 2-star hotel, more pricey than usually in Martinique (84 euro for a standard studio). They qualify themselves as a "hotel de charme", well you can definitely say this for the restaurant and the reception, but not for the rooms. Our room was... More

It was my first trip to the French Caribbean (and make no mistake, Martinique is FRENCH!), and I came across this great little place. The owners are so kind, speak great English, and are wonderful cooks in the kitchen! They retired to Martinique from France. The hotel is basic, but fine. I think they have installed air conditioning since my... More

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The family who runs it have been in the hospitality business all over the world. They speak English and are very friendly and helpful. The simply furnished room was clean and the private outdoor kitchen with the lovely view was perfect for breakfast. One word of caution, be careful to put away your food... More

La Caravelle - stayed for 4 days in July 04. Very pleasant family run hotel. Rooms basic but everything worked, great to have a small kitchen with fridge for breakfast etc. Excellent restaurant offering the creole specialities of Martinique - they take a lot of care over the food. Prices in Euros means it's not cheap but well worth it.... More
