Firstly, this place in general is terribly run down. The front desk staff is clueless and has absolutely none of the necessary skills for a successful career in the hospitality industry. As it was 2pm on a Friday, we asked if the restaurants were open, the rocket scientist at the desk said no, we decided to walk to town for a bite to find the Asian restaurant open, it was independent of the hotel and quite good. One would think that they would know the hours of a restaurant on their grounds, 100 yards from the front desk, they did not. On a bright note the security staff were pleasant and accommodating, they doubled as bellman. We were assigned a room directly over construction that began with hammer drilling at 7:30 am. The room was renovated to old Soviet block standards including an air conditioner that while relatively new was installed incorrectly, our ice bucket was used to gather about half of the water leaking from the unit. The bed was comfortable but unusable after the hammer drilling started. The pool deck and furniture were rubbish, very small amount of shade available. We asked for pool towels and were told there was a ten dollar deposit for each towel. When I went to the front desk I was informed that the deposit had to be in cash. Walked back and got the cash and was provided what certainly was not a ten dollar towel new. There was the remains of a dilapidated structure taped off above the pool area, nice touch. We decided to rent a Cabana at another hotel so we could enjoy a proper day by the pool. When we returned from dinner the construction was still going on, it was after 8 pm on a Saturday, I asked the workers when they were going to stop and they said sometime after 10 pm. I went ballistic on them and the message was received. All in all, this place is an absolute dumpster fire and should be avoided,

The staff means well, and when no cab was available for a ride into Phillipsburg, one of the men offered to drive us there. But the reason we went to Phillipsburg and spent the day at Seaview Beach Hotel, was to get away from the construction noise and lack of amenities at Port de Plaisance. We were assigned a room directly above ongoing renovations which began before 7:30AM, including on a Saturday. The pool area provides shade for, at most, four or five lucky people; otherwise, no umbrellas. And no pool towels, unless you walk quite a distance back to the main office where you’re told it will cost $10 per towel deposit and, no, it cannot be charged to your room, it must be paid in cash which is back in your room which is when you decide to spend the day elsewhere.

We were put in a room on the third floor in a building where the elevator didn't work. When we asked for a different room, we were told none were available. We never saw anyone working on the elevator during our stay. The tv in the master bedroom did not work and the staff could not fix it. The microwave would not shut off, so we had to keep on unplugging it or leave the door open. There is a device to hold the fire extinguisher on the kitchen wall, but, there isn't a fire extinguisher in the unit. Pool towels do not exist, chairs around the pool are dirty and ripped. The Regatta was going on while we were there, the after parties were held on the property of the resort. The guests of the Regatta had full access to the property including the guest room areas. Pick a different resort for your trip.

We booked 2 nights in advance of boarding a cruise ship. Because of stringent Covid reporting requirements at the airport we missed our flight out of Chicago and had to take a later one to Miami where we spent the night. Having paid in advance for two nights we showed up on the second night and we’re told the had no rooms. We are both over 80 and they wanted to take us and luggage back to the main road where we could get a taxi. The desk clerk candidly admitted that they sold our room to others. They seem to feel double booking is their right. They finally found us a room on the top floor with no water or electricity or telephone. Then the moved us to a lower floor where the were still cleaning at 10:00 p.m. There was someone’s food in the fridge. I asked to see the manager but was told she wasn’t in. The reception clerk said nothing in response to my questions about double booking our room when we missed the first night. The bellmen probably saved our lives by moving our luggage and helping us get food through our ordeal. Avoid this place!

Best avoid , desolate area . Spacious clean rooms . What should be improved is staff at reception . They have no idea they’re Running a hotel . They are Simply not interested. Give you The wrong room, key to a room that is already occupied by someone else. Breakfast is not included , Another €15. Mandarin restaurant is really good and does have friendly staff. Pool is great . However, could do with a more professional staff at The reception.

I was extremely disappointed with this resort. Although it was probably a gorgeous property at one point, it is very run down and very "tired." The front desk staff were perfunctory at best. They were very inconsistent--they met with us and checked us in (which took forever) without a mask and without requiring us to have a mask. 20 minutes later when my husband went back to the lobby for pool towels (which they wanted a $20 deposit for!), they demanded he get a mask--meanwhile they weren't wearing one themselves. The room was very large and quite clean at least, but run-down. We tried to go to the pool, but there were only seven pool chairs and a few of those were broken. The brick pavers around the pool were filled with grass and weeds, the pool light was hanging out of the pool and on the side--super unsafe. I would not recommend staying here unless they do some serious renovations. It is also not in a convenient location. It's not easy to get anywhere.

A lot to be desired Their write up sets you up for disappointment.  We arrived and the place is run down.  We went to reception and while we were checking in another guest came in asking if the water worked yet. Yikes, what have we gotten ourselves into?  We were shuttled to our room which was nice as the grounds are extensive.  I asked where the pools were.  1 was up 3 flights of stairs and a walk along the top floor(all outdoors).  There was hope. We got to the pool, it was deserted, lawn chairs are lacking and what was there was ripped and has seen better days. The pool, was in much need of a good paint job!  From afar I thought it was Algae. Ok.  Now I am at a 2 star rating.  Back to the room.  I had my Clorox wipes which we used to wipe everything down.  I am not convinced that this room was cleaned.  When you wipe a light switch and its cleaner after you wipe it, ....... well, ugh. Beach towels are not complimentary. $10 deposit.  So, no thank you. And no one asked if we needed towels. The grounds are tidy, hedges trimmed but there is debris everywhere and not one maintenance staff to be found. The 2nd pool was swimable but again I felt like I was at one of those pools that you find at a motel. WIFI.  They clearly state that they have WIFI in the room and on the grounds. As soon as we left the room, there was no WIFI. So, we are now sitting at Maho Beach having cocktails and watching the planes come in.  Sadly, this is to avoid Port de Plaisance.  I truely believe that in it's hay day it was a beautifuln sought after place once, with ladies in big hats and men in in their bright coloured polo shirts and white or yellow shorts, all sitting around watching the yachts, but now one can only dream of what once was and hope for better days to come.  It has much potential and should that potential be recognized I would be happy to give it another go.  We did eat at one of 3 restaurants they have here and it was delicious. But this is a foodie island and it never disappoints when it comes to the food. Their casino, wow!!! That's where all the $$ is. I don't attend casino's, it's never been my thing but hey, I had to check it out. The restaurant attached to it was stunning.  The casino was huge and there was a stage as well. But it was empty. Maybe if some of the $$ from the casino went into upgrading the resort they would have more people attending their casino as more people would come to the resort. I can only hope for a restful night.  I am very grateful it's only for one night.  1.5 stars is all I would give this place. The winds howled through the sliding doors, and you can here every voice and flip flop pass your door way.  I was up till sleep set in around 2am. So we found out that the water issue, or one of them is a lack of hot water in the evenings.  So we took showers in the morning.

We came here for one night before we left on a week vacation. Our expectations were to relax and enjoy a nice hotel with restaurants and services during our stay. This is a run down resort that has not been updated since the 90’s. We arrived early and were told we have to pay $35 for early arrival. Then an hour into our stay the power went out for 4 hours! When we complained they said it was island wide, yet the restaurants and casino on their property had electricity with no issues. There was no assistance or guidance on what to do while the power was out! While the power was out there were no back up generators on the property and no security to assist during the very dark walk back to the suite! The suite was large and cleanish. There were not enough towel for my husband and I for one night. The amenities in the bathroom were used and not refilled. When we arrived the front desk said their phone systems were down and we would have to use our phone to call if we needed anything. But the Wi-Fi was down and when it was up it was spotty at best and only in the restaurants. The restaurant staff was pleasant and after finding the location it was good food. The information in the room stated there was breakfast on the grounds yet when asked it was no where to be found. When asked if there was something close by the front desk person had no clue. And it goes on… bottom line don’t waste your time and money coming here it’s not worth it!

Could have been great, but wasn't. We were 3 couples in three rooms. Here's the good... The staff were great, from the desk to the security to the bellboy. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The bad... Phones didn't work anywhere on the resort. Elevators were broken in all buildings and 2 couples were on the 3rd floor with no ability to get lower floors. Internet was unusable in virtually all locations. The grounds around the resort haven't been swept for ages. The paint in the rooms and the outside of the building is blistered and peeling. Cabinetry in the rooms was damaged and showed extreme wear. Overall, not a great experience.
